A while back some scientist claimed there was a statistical probability we could be living in a giant computer simulation. I read a quote this morning in response to the mad scientist and it said "If I'm in a virtual reality, the graphics are great, but the plot sucks". Touché!

Old Man of the Sea

I learned the other day that sea urchins are some of the longest living animals on the planet. When you think about this it makes perfect sense. If your purpose in life is to inflict pain and suffering on a swifter and more intelligent opponent, you have to be willing to wait around awhile. Eventually though, the spiny creature will find its mark. Just ask the innocent blond haired blue eyed teenaged girl who sat down on one at Merizo one day... huh Pat?

Maybe there's a lesson for us here. It doesn't matter how smart, or how athletic, or even how attractive you are, success usually boils down to two key components – PATIENCE & PURE DUMB LUCK!

Man is Britney Pissed

With all the media attention the late Heath Ledger is getting you have to imagine Britney is more than a little jealous. Look for her to do something really big over the next couple of days. I'm thinking a sex change operation might be just the ticket to get her back on page 1.

Texas Sized UFO

In early January a number of people reported seeing a very large UFO over a couple of small Texas towns. I'm usually not one to give these things a second thought, but this story did peak my interest. For one thing, it happened in my old stomping grounds - a place my two oldest children still live. For another, after originally denying they had aircraft in the area, the military today revised their story and claimed there were 10 F16's in the area at the time.

As I stated before, I don't really have an active interest in ufology. Because I've never seen one, I can't say for certain that they exist. At the same time, just because I haven't had that experience, doesn't mean they don't exist. For now I'll have to keep an open mind.

How about you? Have you ever seen something in the sky you couldn't explain? Maybe you have connections with some advanced alien life form. And if you do, maybe you can talk them into giving us all a ride out to Guam? We can even offer up Dave as an anal probe test subject in exchange for the trip. Just a thought.

Presidential Politics

My earliest recollection of presidential politics was the 1972 Nixon v. McGovern race. I clearly remember debating over the candidates while standing out in our street. Being the hippie kids we were, Nixon never stood a chance in our polls. Wouldn't it be nice if politics actually meant something again?

Phoned an old friend

Thanx to this blog, I was able to contact and call an old pal from Guam tonight. We talked about some really cool stuff about our past, post Guam life, and current lives. About old friends and current @#$*& going on! If at least you do not participate on the blog, I hope this blog has reunited some old friendships!

Latte Stones in the Jungle

While in my younger years on Guam, Sam Sparks, Matt Kalb, myself, and many of all of our siblings and friends piled up into Sam's old yellow Datson pickup truck. We ended up hiking down a trail to a remote beach. Sam said that his dad owned the beach. We all had a great time. Pitched several tents and made a camp fire. Some one even snuck some brewski's down there too! We ate hot dogs after roasting them over the open camp fire flame. I remember trying to go to sleep and Mat opened the tent with a hot dog hanging out of the zipper of his pants. I woke up to that sight to become the homophope that I am today.

To make a long story short, I remember while hiking down to the beach we saw many Latte Stone structures, and parts of WWII aircraft scatered in the jungle.

I also remember befor I went to sleep in the tent, sitting on the beach looking over the surf at the darkened horizon with many glittering stars. That was one of the most peaceful moments of my life!

Just a cool memory that I want to share!

resolutions

hi friends....how many kept resolutions? Haven't quit smoking yet, but did stop worring about my job. It'll all work out, one day

It keeps growing and growing and growing....

Good job everyone. I've been slacking off lately on my "go and find them" duties, but apparently many of you have not. The Jewell girls should soon be with us in blogger land, if they can figure out how to sign on. Also, Ric sent me an email notice that he had a lead from a guy who knows Janet Tansy. The only problem is, he forgot to send me the message. So the search goes on. I like it when you all get involved in helping the blog to grow and are successfully keeping it alive. I got a little burned out on it, but have fallen back and regrouped. I know several others have dropped off the radar scope for a while now, but hope everyone will at least check in occasionally, time permitting. Alice? Are you still out there? Gotta go and dig through my albums again.... keep up the good work!

Guess Who Found Us

I had email this morning from Kelley Jewell. Some friends had told her that her name was mentioned on a blog. I forwarded her email to Dave and Robert so they can get her added as a team member. I hope we can get her sister Kim on here too.
