Dave and Robert have done what many only pray for through life! They have reunited old friends, an entire community of youths that new each other over nealy 30 years ago in a far way land (or rock in the drink)! Thanks guys! I salute you both! Then I'll have a drink for the both of you!

Giants kick major butt!!

I'm not a New Yorks Giants fan, but I live in New York and despise the Patriots (confirmed cheaters from the begining of the year)! What a game this was! A true football game!

American Imperialism?

Reports are that up to 4 undersea telecommunications cables in the Middle East have been cut. Countries from Egypt to India have suffered major losses of communications, with Iran being completely cut off from the outside world. Interestingly enough, Israel and Iraq have been left unaffected by the outages. For the most part there has been no explanation as to how the cables were cut.

I don't know about you but I smell a conspiracy of global proportions here. This completely looks and feels like a giant Super Bowl blackout. I mean, why waste all those good Budweiser ads and hot cheerleaders on a region that doesn't appreciate our Western values. I say let them eat cake.

How many of you die hard football fans will be calling in sick on Monday, the day after the Super Bowl? Or, how many of you will be walking into the work place wearing dark sun glasses on Monday (that would be me)? I will be of the latter, since I will be the one graciously accepting the calls of those calling in sick.

Just thinking...

Thinking back on a camping trip that a bunch of us took many moons ago at a beach. To reach the beach, we had to walk quite a distance. As we walked through the boonies, I remember passing many Lotte stones still standing in some sort of orginized formation, which to me meant that at one time an ancient village was thriving at that site. But years later, no current civilization ever occupied that same sight? It was a prime sight to live at in the ancient past, but why not now? I'm no anthropologist or scientist of any sort. But I do like to question a lot of things.

Swim

Here's a little clip from my swim today. I've seen Manta Rays, Sharks, Sting Rays and Barracuda at this site. Today I say the later.




When we were kids I used to sink like a rock. Now I need 8 pounds of lead just to be neutral.

Survivor Guam

I hate to admit it but I've been a big fan of the show Survivor since the very first episode. I think a lot of my attraction has to do with the tropical locations on which it is filmed. Who among us hasn't thought how easy it would be to compete on that show given the skills we acquired as kids? Maybe they should have a Guam season featuring the Dean's Circle gang? Now that would be some good TV.

Hey Cindy, watch out for that...

One of the funniest moments of my childhood happened during a water skiing outing on Guam. We were pulling Cindy parallel to the beach when Dad notice a rogue wave had somehow jumped the reef and was coming our way. He turned the boat to face the 3 foot monster head on. Our trusty little ski boat smashed through the wave with a jarring shutter. Unfortunately for Cindy, she was essentially blind without her glasses and oblivious to the approaching danger. She never saw what hit her, and hit her it did. The cresting wave mowed her down like a 350 pound NFL linebacker at full speed. Somehow she survived - but I suspect she wasn't very happy with us at the time. I'm sure our side splitting laughter didn't help her wounded pride much either. It sure was funny though.

BTW Cindy, that wave was probably karma for the time you and Pat stuck me to the electric fence in Wisconsin. So there!

A while back some scientist claimed there was a statistical probability we could be living in a giant computer simulation. I read a quote this morning in response to the mad scientist and it said "If I'm in a virtual reality, the graphics are great, but the plot sucks". Touché!

Brown Eyed Girl

Who was the Chamorro girl that hung around in the '72 - '74 time frame. I remember she showed us her boobs once. First ones I ever saw that I wasn't related to. Must be why I find dark complected women so attractive.
