Juliet was right on. Guam has a new name. Guahan....pronounced..."Gwa han"

Who is Barbara Lita? I don't have a friend on face book by that name. There is some argument over the original name of Guam. There is another that predates Guahan documented by the research done by Marjorie Driver up at UOG. I think it is Bambam or something like that.Guahan... the chamorros didn't have a written language so the record comes from Spanish documents. The elected leader should really re-think or at least put it to the voters on Guam if the name change should take place and if that is where they want to direct funds to support it. It is going to cost a lot of money to change the name on documents, search engines, re-work the brand of tourist info and communication venues, not to mention legal documents that need to be amended with court costs.
