My daughter Valerie got a job yesterday as an assistant in a hair salon. Yea!!!!! I start my new position on Monday. They had a little going away party in the lab for me today. I now have my own office, a pager and all...guess I have to start acting like a real grown up now.

Yet, when it comes to the MASSIVE stimulus bill, this is aparently not an issue. Billions will, in fact, be awarded to private companies who support the liberal agenda. Energy companies (I thought they were evil), software companies, construction companies, the teachers and universities. How is this any different? Oh, wait, they are doing what's best for us so it is all right.

Daddies and their little girls
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident. Someone had given me a little tea set as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys.
Daddy (me) was in the living room engrossed on the evening news when I brought him a little cup of tea, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my mommy came home.
My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was "just the cutest thing"! My mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and mommy watched him drink it up. Then she says, (only as a mother would know),............................."Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

A Preacher's Son
The preacher's son
An old country preacher had a teenage son, and it was getting time the boy should give some thought to choosing a profession. Like many young men his age, the boy didn't really know what he wanted to do, and he didn't seem too concerned about it. One day, while the boy was away at school, his father decided to try an experiment. He went into the boy's room and placed on his study table four objects.
1. A Bible.
2. A silver dollar.
3. A bottle of whisky.
4. And a Playboy magazine.
I'll just hide behind the door,' the old preacher said to himself.When he comes home from school today, I'll see which object he picks up.
If it's the Bible, he's going to be a preacher like me, and what a blessing that would be!
If he picks up the dollar, he's going to be a business man, and that would be okay, too.
But if he picks up the bottle, he's going to be a no-good drunken bum, and Lord, what a shame that would be.
And worst of all if he picks up that magazine he's going to be a skirt-chasing womanizer.'
The old man waited anxiously, and soon heard his son's foot-steps as he entered the house whistling and headed for his room. The boy tossed his books on the bed, and as he turned to leave the room he spotted the objects on the table. With curiosity in his eye, he walked over to inspect them. Finally, he picked up the Bible and placed it under his arm. He picked up the silver dollar and dropped into his pocket. He uncorked the bottle and took a big drink, while he admired this month's centerfold.
'Lord have mercy,' the old preacher disgustedly whispered. 'He's gonna run for Congress.'

Long Live the Blog!
Nobody has to leave the blog. Not DRL, not Juliet and damn sure not RAC. We have all spewed our share of BS (except Cindy and Becki) they're so sweet... but the rest of us cirlcle rats have laid out some true-blue DC-BS-all day long-Jive talk. That's who we are, that's what we do. We were brought up on the curbs and in the bus-stops of kill haolie land, and we are all a bunch of ruthless scrappers when it comes to defending our own territory... that is, our own minds. We are living in a more touchy-feely-politically-correct world now, where everyone has to tread lightly for fear of stepping on someone else's toes, and we should be respectful of each other... but think back gang, how many fist dragging, knuckle busting, gut kicking fights did we used to get into back in the day, only to be best of friends the next day, having a smoke, a coke and a joke together? I cant' even count them all, let alone remember them all... but that's the point. We all learned how to forgive and forget, we all learned how to get along. But never, did we ever stop running our mouths like there was no tomorrow. That's who we are, that's what we do.

WHA ARE WE HERE FOR???
I have been watching.
Has anyone else noticed that the posts that upset someone get allot of hits, but the funny ones, or ones that Paul puts up don't get the same hits. And look who is on the Island posts, or funny posts, or even the ones like "good day". Why is it that the post that get us to fight are the popular ones.
I went back to the beginning and enjoined the old ones of us on Guam. Ric posted once about going back to the beginning. Any one remember that?
If we are here to bicker, then let the fight begin. I am all in.
But if we want to make this something more of who we are and have become. Then lets do that. I am all for the political, but why not look at the others. I posted the funny one as a test to see if it would take us away. The only one that did, was the "Biblical humor" one. It was funny too, if you ask me.
