Happy Birthday George Washington

“Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

“Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty teeth.”

“The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference, they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”

“Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.”

“The Constitution is the guide which I will never abandon.”

“The Constitution vests the power of declaring war in Congress; therefore no offensive expedition of importance can be undertaken until after they shall have deliberated upon the subject and authorized such a measure.”

“The marvel of history is the patience with which men and women submit to burdens unnecessarily laid upon them by their governments.”

“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.”

“The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves.

Are you Radical, Doug?

I would suppose that would depend on one's definition of radical.
I'm not trying to be coy.
My point in posting these quotes was nothing more than to illustrate that if Washington had said some of these things in modern times he would by some be labeled a fringe radical.
And to wish the old boy a happy birthday.

I understood your post completely, I was just wondering if you are still that scrappy-enrgetic-kaduku-rowdy-argumentive person that I once knew. I know what you look like... now, but is Doug still inside? hint.. coy is not in my vocabulary... although it should be, seeing as I'm a college student..

Argumentive??!!!

Why I oughta'!!!....

Pretty much yeah. I think a cursory review of my postings here on our venerable site would show a propensity to pretty much take the other side and run with it. For no good reason other than to be kind of a dick.

College man now huh? Another from the ranks of the learned is amidst. Good for you. Seriously.
