Well, its time to break out some of those geeky photos of yester-year. If you have any mullet headed, dorky pictures that you are embarrassed but willing to share, I dare you to post them.
This is me at age 15 enjoying the day at cocos island and Matt Kalb with my brother Pete.

Dana's email address

I just got email from Becki (Kalb) Wells. She spent the last week in Vegas for work ( sigh, I lead a boring life). I think she will get around to signing on to here sometime. She says she stays in contact with some of our classmates, but they were the football players and cheerleaders and she doesn't relate as well to their memories. In the meantime, she wants me to send her Dana's email address--if you could please send it to me, Dana. My email address is on my profile.

I also have recently been in touch with Jim Fuqua through classmates.com. Do any of you remember him? Tall, lanky guy. His dad was in the navy. He hung out with the Jones a lot, surfing and playing basketball.

It took 30 years?

Wow! Its almost all I could say, when I heard that Dave had sent me a letter, looking for me. (was I even lost?) We lost touch in the late 70's, when he was in the C.G., in Hi, I think..
After 3 decades of brain cell abuse, I still have GREAT GUAM Memories, and cant wait to spill my guts, and recount the great times we had growing up on Guam.
I talked with Robert and Pat, on Monday, and what a small world, Pat and I live 50 miles apart in Fl, and Robert and I were in Seattle in the 80's at the same time..Was that you that time???

Anyway, I somehow finished H.S in Portland Or., and majored in imports and marketing for 8+ years, before moving to Seattle, and getting into restaurant management, and real estate..
And partying..the Seattle scene was great, until I woke up, living in a van, in 2001, and decided "this wasn't working", and needed a way out..
After a brief truck driving class, I was out of Dodge, and have been on the road ever since..

The remaining brain cell, seem to have stored plenty of good Guam memories, and I'll be sharing them shortly..Feel free to e-mail me, I'm on line regularly..There are lots of names/faces I dont remember, as I was one of the last to arrive in The Circle, but you know,
they saved the best for last.. RD

Cobert on Guam

Burn Baby Burn

Pat, are you talking about this scar?

Regretfully, the story you were given was the "official" line told to the parents. The truth was much more sinister and therefore more interesting and fun.

P.S. I just spoke to the last of the trio who holds this mark. Great job tracking him down Dave.

camping down the cliff

Ok, so which one u you guys besides Robert gave yourself a (tatoo) that nite, using a small metal pipe stuck in the fire? com'on, u can come clean now. I know robert came home with this sore red, bleeding circle on his arm. It eventually healed, but i think mom was pissed. he has the scar to this day. LOL

Who would have ever thought that such a spaced out place would one day be viewed from outer space.

What about Kim Jewell?

Do you all remember her? Tall, thin, red hair..lived next to the Kalbs. Has anyone seen her over the years? I think she stayed on Guam.

Seen one of these lately?

Found this old Guam Liscense plate, thought it may bring back some more memories. Enjoy

Keeping up with the Jones'

Of all the families in Dean's Circle, it was probably the Jones' whom I had the most history with. Many of my most impressionable memories involve one, if not both boys and/or their folks. Motorcycles, bicycles, sailboats and surfboards come to mind - along with a host of other crazy memories (remember Free School?).

My parents stayed in touch with Bob and Sally throughout the years. In fact, Mom spoke with Sally just weeks ago. After leaving Guam they moved to Texas before ending up in Vero Beach, Florida (I think). Not sure what happened with Robert; other than I heard he lost an eye surfing. Apparently Jeff became a pilot and was flying cargo in and out of the Bahamas (I'm sure we can all guess what kind).

So that's all I know. From the emails floating around it sounds like Jeff ended up in Hawaii. If anyone can drag them out here that would be way cool. Until then, we'll just have to reminisce without them.

Micronesian Time

If the date/time stamp on your post seems a little out of wack, it only means you’re not in Mangilao anymore, Toto! In honor of our childhood home, the time zone of this blog has been set to Guam time – where America’s day begins.

A Word from Cindy

I guess it's time I posted some info. I've been married for a second time for 3 years after raising 3 girls on my own for about 10 years. Jennifer is 27, married and has 2 kids, Val is 22, on her own, and Chelsea is 17, still at home. I also have a 16 year old stepdaughter who lives with us full time and a 22 year old stepson who is married, in the army and in Iraq.

I met my husband while ballroom dancing. He was a shrimp boat owner/captain but lost his boat in hurricane Katrina and is now working for Hess and going to college.

Dad moved the family here to Fort Myers after leaving Guam in 75. Dad died 3 years ago and mom is in poor health herself. My sister Pat is living with her and taking care of her.

I'm a medical technologist in a hospital microbiology lab and have been with the same health system for 27 years.

Will post a pic when I get one of my teenagers to show me how..

I keep in touch with Becki (Kalb) Wells. In fact she was just here a couple of months ago for a visit and we had a great time talking aboult old times.

Robert had a great idea and it's great hearing about everybody.

Posting 101

Wow, it's awesome to see everyone getting onboard. Now if we could just get to the next step and start creating some posts we might have something here. I'm pretty sure everyone has access to create a new post. If not, please let me know.

For now I'm going to copy Cindy's recent comment to a new post. Maybe this way I won't look like such a blog hog. I think I speak for us all when I say we can’t wait to hear from you.
