Wow, this posting brought back and opened many memories!

1. The hafa dai (sp?) 1, 2, and 3 theatres. Are they still there?

2. A poem that I wrote, "sitting on her waiting seat".

3. ...and...Many moons ago while living in Idaho Falls, I joined a dart and pool team at a bar "Debbies Brothers". Played with them for a few years. Then I left for California for a few more years, then to Alaska for another three years. When Teresa and I left Alaska to venture to New York, we stopped back in Idaho Falls to visit with my brother Dave. I wanted to show Teresa my old stomping grounds. So I took her to the bar that I use to shoot pool and throw darts. I walked in, and the same old gang was sitting in the same bar stools that they sat in almost a decade prior. When I walked in, they reconized me like they just saw me yesterday. I thought to myself, "beer is good, but can't be that good".

I am really intrigued by this 3-D movie.

'Bolt 3D'. OK, alot went right over my head on this one! Duh! I'm an idiot (never afraid to admit that).

I'll be honest with you all. I did see a 3d movie way back in the day on Guam, theatre 1, 2, or 3. Guess I need to see this one to bring back the good old times.

Doug, so how the heck are you?

Next time we have another reunion, sure would like to sit and chat, and spend more with you over a few drinks, discussing the world, politics or what ever! You are a clever man.

Hafa Adai theaters are closed. Cinima in East Agana is closed too, as well as the Johnston in Tamuning.
For a while there was a go-cart track where the old drive-in theater used to be.

They've all been replaced by Tango Theaters in Micronesian Mall and Agana Shopping Center and this on (used to be Wallace Theaters) in Guam Premium Outlets (old Gibsons)

Chovin and I watch the 3D version of Bolt here. The effects were good.

Hey Ric,
doing fine I guess. How about yourself? Always look forward to a spirited and earnest discussion of the issues.
Pretty soon we're going to maybe talking about how India & Pakistan are nuking each other back into the Stone Age. One of the things being under reported in this whole Mumbai thing is how pissed off the Indian populace is over both the attack and what is perceived as an impotent response from their government. It's takes a lot to get the Sikhs & Hindus stirred up but when you do it's advisable to look the fuck out. Add to this the generations old blood feud between Pakistan & India and you have the potential for trouble with a capital T. The real irony here is of course is this is exactly what those that masterminded this thing want. At the very least destabilization of the region, at worst, well I don't want to even think about what it could evolve to. Okay so now we return to the thread topic.
I remember the Johnston Theater. It was where all the Filipino workers would go and they showed these Grade C movies and you could smoke in there and the floors were so sticky from God knows what your feet would stick to it. Good times.

Paul-Thanks for the updates on the theatres. I always asumed that Hafa Adai theatre 1, 2, and 3 would be around forever. I do not reconize the names of the others? And thanks Paul for being our eyes and ears on the 'Rock'!

Doug-That whole incident in India blows my mind! How did so few penetrate so far into the city and cause 100+ casualties and create such property distructions? Where the police, the harbor patrol, and the military all alseep? And what about the average Joe citizen? But then again, I have not researched the incident in depth.

Ric,
they, like a huge majority of the world population are sitting ducks. Us included. Imagine for a moment 10 well armed and motivated groups of fundamentalist dipshits let loose on 10 different malls/shops/tourist sites whatever in lets say Atlanta GA.
I don't think it's a stretch to say that there would be significant loss of life before it was all over. Not too far fetched this scenario either.

Doug, this is why NYC has just upgraded their security threat! Could happen anywhere!
