Thursday's annual Census Bureau report on income, poverty and access to health care-the Bureau's principal report card on the well-being of average Americans-closes the books on the economic record of George W. Bush.
It's not a record many Republicans are likely to point to with pride.
On every major measurement, the Census Bureau report shows that the country lost ground during Bush's two terms. While Bush was in office, the median household income declined, poverty increased, childhood poverty increased even more, and the number of Americans without health insurance spiked. By contrast, the country's condition improved on each of those measures during Bill Clinton's two terms, often substantially. Continued...

So much for being the keepers of the American dream.
Left wing propaganda engendered by the far left leaning media with their socialist agenda and their communist apologist masters who hate this country and will stop at nothing to implement their agenda of destroying our freedoms.
Or something like that.
I was just about to say that.
Well, at least Al-Qaeda got their butts kicked under sheriff George, whereas BJ Bill should have done a lot more ass whooping. History has yet to be written on the good or bad that BO does on behalf of the USA. So rac, can we agree now that from here on out, it is no longer GWB’s war, economy, health care or energy policy, bailouts, or anything else the libs constantly blame him for? Its time for this administration to take ownership for its own policies and screw ups.
OK, then on the first score we can say the current President has a better record on national defense than the old President. The country was attacked by September 11 of Bush's first year - here it is September 14 of Obama's first year and guess what... no planes falling from the sky.
So we are in agreement, future history will show the results.
It is only fair.
Ummm...no. GW Bush himself said that the jury would be out on his presidency for years to come. In fact he said on more than one occasion that the jury was in fact still out on Presidents from over a hundred years back.
In reality, policy formulated, advocated and signed by the executive, be it foreign, domestic, fiscal or whatever does have far reaching and long term ramifications.
In many cases certainly longer than nine months.
Dave, you said "Its time for this administration to take ownership for its own policies and screw ups." Fair enough. (And yes there have been some.)
BUT
you also said "it is no longer GWB’s war, economy, health care or energy policy, bailouts, or anything else the libs constantly blame him for." See where I'm going with this? Yes we will and should judge Obama on how he handles these things but I'm not at all wanting to let Bush and company off the hook so easily.
I actually think Bush did Obama a favor. If you have been tasked to clean up a mess there should probably be a mess to clean up. At this point the upside potential is much greater than the downside.
The problem is, when anything goes wrong with their brilliant plans, all you hear is that same chicken shit excuse, over and over again.. 'we inherited it from Bush.' When something positive happens, the left gets all puffed up and takes full credit for their success. It's getting just a bit sickening already. Obama needs to stop looking in the rear view mirror and take some ownership for the heat and consequences that come with the oval office.
Rac and boonidawg, You are right on with this issue. How can a newly elected President not take the ____ that roles downhill? It's border line insane to think that "All" was well. Was it? I think not!
Is all well now Joanna?
Well,Do you see so many chicken shit excuses now? I mean,Dave your from the Coast Guard.Where did they tell you to go crazy on the rightfully elected President. I think you should stand aside and gather your little bits of info that you so easily fall for. Turn off R.Limbug, please. Get informed unlike an ostrich would do.Time will and is telling the truth.Debrief Soldier!
Breathe,breathe,breathe...and exhale.
OK Joanna, I'll turn on MSNBC so I can get the same left wing Obama propaganda that you are obviously brainwashed with. Have another drink and take a chill pill before you blow a gasket. I'm not a soldier.. but I do like ostriches.
I had a friend here who had an ostrich farm and they can be really scary as a group. When you look in their eyes it is like "something primitive is going on in there if anything at all". Anyway one day they ganged up on one of the male ostriches and literally pecked out his private parts. He died. They seem to me to be creepy and aggressive. Evidently they kick too. I have decided that I am not very keen on ostriches. They sell the meat here occasionally in the high End supermarkets. Also the eggs which were kind of interesting to me, since it was the first time I could get my hands on one. Come to think of it shopping here is like one big science lab.
mmm, ostrich burgers
Dave,if you remember my sister Alice, she told me that everyone is where they should be, regardless. Juliet,Now that was hysterical. I worked in a gift store and was told one egg was like 8 chicken eggs.We had fun, let's do it again:) and Dave why do you think there has been an increase in soldiers sent to Afghanistan? Georgie went to attack Iraq with weapons of mass destruction.(None were ever found) O.k. he was hung. Now ,we have to start all over with reinforcements to find bin laden and his master minds. History will show the truth.I am very relaxed yet,I feel like I have to say it like it is, not like we want to believe it is.That's delusional.
