Senate Votes to Cut Off ACORN Housing Funding

The amendment, offered by Sen. Mike Johanns, passed in a vote of 83 to 7 and prohibits the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from receiving funds from the current Transportation and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. It marks the third time this year Republicans tried to block the organization from federal funding. Full story here.

But, really, it smells a bit like closing the barn door after the horses have already fled. Will anyone look a little deeper into the relationship of Obama and ACORN? Will any of the mainstream media even report on this?

I think this is only the tip of the iceberg. Acorn is buried in corruption up to its eyelids, and up through the highest levels of the federal government. Maybe the Obama administration shouldn't have screwed with the CIA. There's no such thing as a secret once an intelligence agency starts investigating your domestic criminal activity. But that's just my opinion.

Let me just say that ACORN can go away as far as I'm concerned. I think it's important to note that ACORN is comprised of hundreds of community action orgs throughout the country and they've become more trouble than they're worth. Federal funding for partisan operations is unethical if not downright illegal.
That said, the CIA can not legally investigate anything criminal on a domestic level. That is the domain of the FBI.

If that's the case Doug, I wonder if the FBI will do its job and investigate acorn all the way to the top.. even if it exposes corruption in the white house. And that should include the previous administration(s) as well.

I wouldn't bet on it.
