I suspect Paul's night swim videos will now have a certain "glow" to them.

Environmental tests conducted at Apra by EPA show "normal" levels of cesium. That is to say the levels are what one would expect to be normal after a nuclear powered sub had been seeping radioactive effluent into the bay for a number of days.
Nothing to see here folks.

Please keep moving on. All is okay. New fishing regulations now say that all 3 eyed fish must be released back to the ocean. Gov Guam is now requiering swiming suits and wet suits be made of lead. Nothing to worry about this is just for precautionary measurs. Nothing to see here, please move on.

Funny, there is really nothing to worrie about. I live next to (at one time) the largest consentration of stationary nucular reactors. They have been out there for more than half a century, and our levels are low. My best friend here works out there as an enviromental engineer and trains in PBC's. Burning coal puts out more radiation than any nucular plant, even one that leaks. Three mile islnad leaked out as much as 2 dental exray's. So, one again, nothing to see here, please wear lead uder wear to bed. Thank you for your time. No comment.

Hey DRL,Maybe that would explain the spell check thing. Hahaha.Seriously though, radiation poisoning is nothing to laugh at. I hope the EPA and navy continue to monitor this. As with a plane crash all nuclear vessels should undergo immediate inspections for compliance. Look at the islanders of Enewetok atoll, they are still suffering some symptoms and illnesses some 60 plus years later. I realize that there was a lot more radiation involved due to actual detonation of devices but still, It's one of those things that makes me go Hmm.

oh yes matt, that is why I cant spell or dance, but that being besides the point. I tell my kids that it is okay to eat lead based paint, I did it growing up and see how I turned out.
Remember Churnobal(sp, abc click). That was devistating, but I know that we have teams at every port, and nuke facility. Nothing dangurus is going to happen. Nuke is the safest power sorce on the planet.

I live 5 miles away from Indian Point nuclear power plant, and it scares me to think what would happen if that baby sprung a leak. Last thing I would worry about is glowing at night, my concern would be how to beat 12 million other people out of the red zone.

Yea I live about 1 mile line of sight from Cheyenne Mountain(NORAD)
I'm always just a little bit paranoid when I see a plane flying over it. I'm quite sure that it would be a first strike target if some loon decided to lob one at us.

Yea Mat, I was stationed at Fort Carson as you were(Just out side of NAROD) in 1980 and part of 1981. There was a false alarm during that time, and NORAD showed incoming misssles on there radar screens (a computer glitch). Makes you think though!

Hey Claudia was on a National Geographic special years ago because she had her students using a radio-activity counter which she got on loan from the Navy. They tested the organs of fish caught in Apra harbor. That must have been in the early to mid 70's. It was a big to do.

How do I know her name, Claudia? maybe I saw her on TV (I watch those kind of shows).

RAC, you were in the Navy. Did you ever port in Guam?

Ric, Claudia is my older sister. She taught science and was the counselor at BJHS back then. She was married to James Service back then and went by Claudia Service.

Thanks, thought I knew that name!
