Thanx Mat

Your wonderful State of Colorado is going to be sending us a whapping winter storm come early Wednesday Morning, delivering about 8' inches of snow, ice and freezing rain!

Thank you man! I love you! Another snow day for me and my wife! (I love snow and the cold weather).

I suggest that all global warming nuts to come to New York Tomorrow and stand out side in their speedo's...only. Then exlain global warming to me! ;)

Ric,
I'm no eco-nazi but the planet is getting warmer. As to why who the hell knows.
One of the contradictions of a warming planet is the extreme weather caused by climate shift. And that includes really bad snow and ice storms.
The polar caps ARE melting.
For the first time in tens of thousands of years there are no glaciers in Glacier National Park.
Something like 7 out of the last 10 Summers in North America have been the hottest on record.
Enjoy your snow day. It's supposed to be like 78 here tomorrow and I'll be at work.

Yeppers Doug, The Earth may very well be going through a warming period, which happens to be at the exact same rate that the Sun and Mars are warming up at. Cycles? Coincidence?

The biggest gas that is causing global warming is what? Water vapor! As the sun heats up more, the heat hits our oceans. Water evaporates from the oceans. Presto..global warming.

Ice ages have interims, they come and they go. I believe we are in an inter-glacial period now. This has happened over and over again in the Earth's history without automobiles, human participation and the like.

Cows and termites explell more Carbon per year than all humans do.

Doug, please do not come up to New York in a Speedo! (I don't want to go blind. Nor will I ever wear a speedo myself, because I do not want to blind any anyone).

But Mat, send us the snow! Love'n it!

You can have it! I have to shovel here at work and I'm ready for summer. I'm all for Global warming if it means no more shoveling snow. I'm driving the Monte Carlo to work tomorrow and burn up some dead dinosaurs.

To Doug's point:

MELBOURNE, Australia – Southern Australia suffered Friday from a record-breaking heat wave that has threatened rural towns with wildfires and sent ambulance crews after heat-stressed patients.

Melbourne, Australia's second-largest city recorded its third consecutive day of temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius (109 F) for the first time since 1855, when record-keeping began, the Bureau of Meteorology said.

The temperature in Melbourne topped 45.1 C (113 F) on Friday ahead of a cooler change that might even bring some thunder showers, the bureau said.
