I had email this morning from Kelley Jewell. Some friends had told her that her name was mentioned on a blog. I forwarded her email to Dave and Robert so they can get her added as a team member. I hope we can get her sister Kim on here too.
I'll always remember Kim as the first friend I made when we moved to the circle. We were both into our Barbie dolls. She was real protective of hers, so I had to ask her permission before i could touch one of her dolls or the dolls clothes and accessories. She was a good friend though and always stayed innocent.
Hey that is great! Hi to Kelly and Kim. Speaking of Barbie dolls, do any of you girls remember the hours we played them over at the sicklers, not to mention Mystery Date.
LOL, Juliet...mystery date. what fun we had with that game! who got the DUD and who got the "handsome one"...what was he called? I don't remember cause I must've always got the Dud. Hey, between you and me, when we got older and still lovin our barbies and their boyfriend Allen, who had plastic hair back then, we decided one day to tape black tape on barbies "you know what". It was a triangle..LOL. I guess that was our reality show. They got to sleep in the same bed then...but it was totally innocent.
I remember the commercial on TV , the song went something like "mystery date are you waiting for your mystery date". Very cool stuff.I wonder what the guy behind the door would look like today if they still made that game. Do you remember the shows like ''Love American Style?" Barbie was mind warping. I don't know exactly what ever happened to my collection. The Sicklers having three girls, had a great collection of Barbie stuff. We used to put all off our stuff in a pile and everyone took a turn taking a piece, after some trading to balance out our living arrangementsn the marathon playing of scenarios began. The primary theme trying to get Ken doll over for dinner and then into bed. I think GI Joe had to play a few times when we were short on guy dolls. Long ours in the back lanai at the Sickler's house...
LOL, Juliet. I almost forgot dear Ken. yes Juliet, Roberts GI joes were much better..they were "posable". When we were fixin to leave Guam, we had a "garage" sale. I had to sell all my barbies.
Pete, Dan and I used to light our GI Joes on fire, then throw them up in the air and watch him parachute back down to earth, smoking all the way down. Of course they would always live to fight another day, battle scars and all. Barbie never really liked him much after that. She's so vain.
Juliet, that's so funny and Love American style was like before it's time, kinda like the Twilight Zone. And Dave I remember burnt up G.I. Joes, they must have been yours!I don't think Sam did that memory:)No wonder Barbie was so vain...she always lost her hubby!Just joking as usual;)
Me and my brothers use to take model airplanes, squirt flamable model glue on them, and lite them up! It was fun watching them burn and spiral down as we threw them off of Two Lovers Point! Looked so realistic, just like in the war movies back in the day.
OMG!..no wonder Barbie had to take on so many persona's. Her true loves were not Allen or Ken. It was G.I.Joe and you guys burned him! Thank God my barbie was thinking ahead and kidnapped Roberts Joe before any harm came to him....and they lived happily ever after. The End
