Wow! I spent a summer in Pohnpei when I was around 19. My Dad was teaching a summer course there. Does the hotel still have waterbeds and octupus parmasian on the menu. I remember the road wasn't paved from Kolonia down town to the village hotel and freqeutly washed out. Diane Strong was down there teaching too and she could run it faster than we could drive it. I tried that nasty muddy Kava drink at some out side Kava bar in Kalonia. ( few tables out in the open) all the reqular locals drinking out of small plastic buckets and looking very numb. I remember eating Mangrove crab when ever it was available. Still the best sea food in the world for me.
