Presidential Politics
My earliest recollection of presidential politics was the 1972 Nixon v. McGovern race. I clearly remember debating over the candidates while standing out in our street. Being the hippie kids we were, Nixon never stood a chance in our polls. Wouldn't it be nice if politics actually meant something again?

Ah yes McGovern, what did he end up winning in that election of '72? His home state of South Dakota I think. Biggest landslide in US electoral history. For all his faults I would take Nixon over the current occupant. At least Nixon understood diplomacy and was capable of stringing a few coherent sentences together.
I sometimes wonder how differently things would have turned out if the Kennedys had not been assasinated. Those truly were interesting times.
I believe it's time for a women. come on guys, give her a chance. Hillary gets my vote.
I've found over the years that its best not to discuss politics with friends unless you are ready to duke it out with them. Now since we aren't sitting out on the curb any more where we can exchange blows, it will be hard for me to get involved in this subject matter. All I can say, is Hillary, No Way!
I agree with Dave fully. I do not discuss politics or religion with anyone, including my wife.
But for National Security purposes (something I know just a little too much about), Hillary should just disappear for all of our intrests.
But I respect all opinions, it is...the American way.
Her yucky husband is going to ruin it for her. She should have ditched his cheating butt years ago. ; )
Doug, I always kind of admired Nixon in a bizar kind of way. Do you remember a comedian (name unknown to me) recording a version of the 'the Nixon tapes'? Came out about the same time as the first Cheach and Chong record in the early 70's. Frick'n Funny!
Ron Paul in 08. At least you'll know what you're getting... another insane Texan with big ears.
Ric,
not sure but could have been that master of impressions Rich Little. He did a great Nixon. Had the facial expressions and everything down to a T. Speaking of Cheech & Chong what a sell out Cheech Marin has become.
Free Tommy Chong!
ok ya'll, not talking politics no more! I see no one likes my Hillary vote. I do think it's time for a women, Yet I see you aren't ready for it, so my next pick is McCain...he's been there.
