This picture is a good example of the Coast Guard Dave and I joined
back in the 70's
But dont let its lax apperance fool you..nearly every one of those guys was a sharpshooter ,carried deadly weapons
and was well qualified in his/her field of expertise....
We just would not put up with the crap the other military branches
had to deal with...
We went to work and did our jobs...
and we didn't bark like a dog...
Is Dave guy in dark jumpsuit behind (from right to left) 2nd squating guy in white shirt in first row???? Chris, how about a pic of you???
Just below the 1 in 1349, down to two guys in coveralls, I'm the one on the left. Of course I don't even recognize myself, being that I only weighed 135 lbs soaking wet back then. Chris is right about the way the CG works, and we still don't bark like dogs or spray ink out our rear ends.
I went to Dolphins game today (boring) and best part was all the tributes to military and veterans and the flyover by 3 Miami Coast Guard helicopters.
Dave, I could recognize you.After 911, I came so close to joining the military but, my daughter would always break down.I respect everyone who signed their lives away...G.I. There's just so much to say to the people who protected and are protecting our freedom:)
