Pat, so good to see you back with us. Where did you go? I know Doug has been feeling terrible lately, moping around and just not his normal self since you've been away.
I guess Juliet was taking a break also. It gets lonely out here in blogger land when no one comes out to play. Just like when one of our families would go back to the states for the summer, things just weren't quite the same.

About time you showed up again. I was concerned about you. From now on you have to let us know when you're going to evaporate for two weeks. Okay I feel better now. Hope you and your family are all ready for Christmas.
By the way did anyone happen to see the show hosted by Tom Brokaw on the History Channel about the year 1968. Hoo boy talk about a trip down memory lane.
The Chinese have a saying "May you live in interesting times". We grew up right in the middle of 'em.

Nice to hear from you again. All of us Guamanians are busy as bees, I can only imagine!Remember how on Guam there'd be Chamorro time. If a party started at say 2 pm, they'd show up at 4pm.That's still the norm here for the most part:)

Of course I remember Christmas caroling around the circle with parents/kids and then the eggnog at the elderly couple house near the beginning of the circle. I was talking with my mom about that recently and she thought the couple that always invited everyone for egg nogg was some distant cousin of ours. The best thing about Christmas was heading out after opening all the presents and going out to see what everyone else got and then playing with it all.

Pat,
working in retail must really suck out loud this time of year. Seriously I don't know how you all do it, dealing with the "public", a vast majority of whom don't know their ass from third base. Here you are, someone who has been to places most of these random dipshits have never even heard of and you have to be nice to them and they are always right because they're the customer. Yeesh.

Pat, I too worked in retail for a short while after the Army days (a very short while I must say). I had no tolorance for people that felt they were just: 'the entitled people', especialy around the Holiday Season. I told one too many where to go....with a smile!

LOL ric, believe it or not, it's not the customers most times, even though this time of season, the JERK comes out of them. My boss is biggest jerk of all. one day soon, i'm gonna tell him, but I'm waiting for the right moment when he's up to his eyeballs in frieght and I'm not gonna be there to get it out on the floor.
