Hi from Gimpy

I have not been too active lately. My back has been hurting worse. There are two kinds of popular drivers. 1. some one with a pickup, and 2. someone with a handycap sticker. I am the later.
Today my Doctor is trying some kind of "nerve" pill to see if the pain in my back can be calmed down.
Before any of you think this is some sort of plee for simpethy, IT IS NOT!!!
As I tell people, "I just have a broken back, some people are parolized". or "it's just pain, it's not cancer". I pray for all those who have it worse than me.

I hear you Dave, always in pain from my previous broken neck. The pain never goes away for me, especially when the cold weather hits!

Let me know how the new meds work!

Been wondering where you have been on the Blog, even though I have spoken with you on the phone!

Try seeing a chiropractor(a good one) or accupuncture.Accupuncture worked on my husband. He walked in with a crutch dragging his lower body then an hour later walked out upright and forgot the crutch. He won't go to a chiropractor, but I've been helped as many other people that I know have also.Sam included.

Ya, I would be leary of a chiropractor in DRL case expecially since you can see the damage on an Xray. I also have a bad back (no Robert not from spending so much time on it)haaaha. I did try accupuncture for some other aches and pains and it really helped. You should give it a try, it's not as painful as it sounds. Yep, you better move to the tropics.

In the past I've also seen an accupunturist on a regular basis for asthma and other problems. It was very helpful. There sure is no harm in it. and although needles are involved it actually feels good..I always walked out feeling very relaxed and calm.

Dave,I hope that you feel relief from your pain. When I was 17 yrs.old I had a major injury carrying canoes from P.I.C. as a clubmate. The pain shot from my hips to my neck.I saw a chiropractor from New Zealand and he fixed me all up:)It's true!:)

I feel for you Dave, I really do. Being in pain can REALLY get old after a while.
I have from football a separated shoulder (the absolute worst), dislocated shoulder, sublimated & herniated #4 disc in spine. A shattered left wrist from falling off a ladder while cleaning crap off the roof after Hurricane Jeanne. The emergency room that day was full of all the other dumbasses like me that had maimed themselves in the cleanup.
I never leave home without a bottle of Aleve. I am fortunate to be as well off as I am & I thank God for the good health that my family & I enjoy. I know for all my little aches & pains there are many of us much much worse off than me.
Think happy thoughts of your growing up days on the island, if that doesn't work I recommend Jack Daniels.

Have missed your funny comments, DRL. Hope you are feeling better soon. Chronic pain is not easy to live with.

Thank you all for your thoughts and love.
I have considered acupucture(?), but up here they just through you in a wild rose bush, ha. No I think I will try it. The damage is pretty bad, but anything is worth a shot now, like Southern Comfort it works just as well as Jack Daniels.
Time for pills and bed, night night.

I've had back trouble on and off for years. Chiropractor and exercise have been the ticket for me.

As it turns out my chronic migraines (stress related) are controlled with exercise as well.

Take care dude.

Dave, when you have the time, tell us story of how you broke your back. Trucking accident? I remember you were going to be a stunt man when you grew up. No more stunts for you now, Eh?
My grandpa had terminal cancer, he was in a lot of pain. he took perkaset (sp?) and drank beer, seemed to work well. The beer was not part of the perscription.
I imagine the cold weather doesn't help with all the Stainless steel and hardware in your neck.
Its pretty cold here in Ohio. I hate the winter. Im still Island blooded. Someday I will move south!
