First impressions...

Every time I disembarked here I felt like a wet mop. The new one is air conditioned all the way to the planes.

I will never forget those round shaped things.... remember anytime we had to pick someone up at the airport it was at O-dark:30 in the AM???

Has not changed a bit since 1972 and probably even prior! Good shot!

Are those round things up there supposed to represent Lattie Stones (sp??). I always thought they looked like flying saucers.
I will never forget the smell of burning jet fuel as the planes blocked out and turned, blasitng us with hot jet wash, and ramp trash. Maybe thats why I went into aviation. I still love that smell.
Do they still let you stand by the ramp to wave to your loved ones as they board?

Yes, they are supposed to be lattie stones, but after seeing "Men in black", they may be space ships.

Joanna, I do so look forward to seeing them again someday. And I thank you so much for the kind and heart felt words of and for my brother Steve. Who for those of you did'nt know, had passed away.

This was a great airport. The Blue Marlin Lounge, with the large stuffed Marlin. When you arrived here you knew you were in the tropics. Everyone seemed to move slower. Do any of you remember the airstrips in Yap, Truck and Palau. just a patchy airstrip with a corrugated tin shack and some laid back vendors selling their local handy crafts and beetle nut.

Juliet, my gosh, the Blue Marlin Lounge! I remember it! Is it still there?

Joanna or Paul, does the Doughnut Tree still exist in Agana? One of my favorite coffe and doughnut shops.

Dave and Joanna, Steve will always be missed! Not a day goes by that he is not in my thoughts or prayers.

Dan, UFO's or Angelic Angels maybe? Those ancient Chammaro's had some sophisticated technology, like the ancient Egyptians, Mayans and Druids. All that technology came around the same time all around the globe.

I have not been to Guam since 2000. There was a new airport built farther up to the left of the old airport. I think the old airport was used for cargo buisness. I don't know what is going on with it now. Paul or Jo must have more information. I think the Blue Marlin was closed.
