For me, the week end of Oct. 11th would be good.
If you build it they will come. 10/11/2008 works for me.
That might prevent some spouses from making it since kids will be in school. hmm, didn't someone say "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"?

The only problem with summer in Vegas is summer in Vegas. 128 degrees on a good day.

By the way the weekend of 10/11 is good for me too. Looking at my calendar i don't see any pressing social engagements scheduled for that time slot. Actually, the whole year is pretty much open.
October 11 is good for me too. we can make it a Thursday through Sunday thing. I like staying in the hotels that are all linked together with the train tram. It makes going to and fro to casino's easy and without needing to park a car.

I don't know if I can make it that week. First, IT'S HUNTING SEASON!!!!! Sencond, What are two things that don't go together? "DRL IS RIDING HIS HOG" and "THE MIDDLE OF OCTOBER".

September/October is heavy travel for me, but I can try. Also, the cooler the weather the more expensive the rooms in Vegas. All that being said I can certainly put it on my calendar.

So the crowd seems to be swaying towards August? As Becki hinted, we might be able to catch some great travel/hotel deals. Apparently summer is the Vegas off season, though I can't understand why. Anyone object?

Hi Becki! My daughter is in her first year of college. She graduated a year ealy, other wise she would still be in high school. She is only 16.
I'm flexible (and no rude comments about THAT...lol) Oldest daughter is due with 3rd child at end of July and I want to go to Tenn for that but other than that no plans.
I'm so sorry, I have started a mutany. August is still HOT (Go ahead Cindy, make a coment).
Becki, ME! Yes I started late. My girls are 16 and 17. But I am not so worried about them when I am not home, duct tape and a locked closet come in realy handy.

No Dave (DRL), you did not start a mutany. I too am flexable. August is still cool for me (even though it will be 128 degrees in Vegas then). I too would not like to ride a 'hog' in mid October. Things begin to shrink when coldness comes between you legs :)!I would just love to see every one again and will try to bend my schedule to be there!
Cindy, your flexability in not crude at all. I have not been to Tn in some time, but I hope your grand baby dosn't look like me.
Oh, and as Becki hinted, the rooms run about $150 a night on fri and sat night. So it may be better (if it works for buissnes plans) to meet on the week days, but it is not worth it if less can make it.

If we do this on an island, then I have to wait till next year, that would involve more money and all my vacation money is planned for this year---but I like that idea

This year my husband's senior class had their 35th reunion on a cruise. It was alot of fun, there was something to do for everyone, and the price was very good....just another idea.
I think we have set a new record of no. of comments. Ric you track that better than I do.

Joanna, There is a casino called "Tresure Island" in Las Veagas.
While Las Vegas is relatively close by for us on the mainland, it is far from the place we are reuniting about. I hear what Joanna is saying, but like Juls said it would mean another year of saving and planning in order to head out to Guam. So the question is, do we do this thing the Guamanian way or the hoalie way? I personally have been trying to come up with a good reason to go back to Guam for a visit. A true Dean's Circle reunion while expensive, would be about the most awesome thing I can think of, to totally blow all of our minds back into the 70s. Las Vegas...well, maybe Johnny Borja will be there.
Dave, Guam would work for me as well! I just need some advance notice. I am very flexable for this reunion. I want to see every one again...and this would also give me any excuse to revisit Guam!
Yes, I agree with Joanna, Dave (not me), Juls (oh yea), and Ric. Lets face it, a true Dean's Circle reunion would have to be on Guam. That being said, I can't aford a trip with my family there for some time. I know that it would be expensive for the few who live off shore, and we can all plan on meeting on Guam some time, but for now lets look at the soonest time. When we go to Guam let it be in the winter. PLEASE!!!
I too would love an excuse to visit Guam again. If we give everyone enough time to plan in advance we could start saving.

After much thought, enough time to look at a globe and map, I realized that RAC probably had the best location in mind for everyone. My vote is still with Vegas Baby!
It would be nice to fly out to the islands for a reunion. But it is finacially heavier and more time consuming for the great majority of us, unfortunate as that me be (sigh).

Good piont Doug! I have made my decision, my wife and I will be in Vegas the weekend of October 11th. If the reunion does not happen at that time, at least I will be in close proximity to visit with the RAC'ster, my brother Dave and Juls.
Vegas in August is good for me. Road Trip! Get outta fla and see some of the country for a change.(that's just my vote)
PS..August in S.W. Fl is HOT! Cindy can tell ya and Doug too, but he's got it a little cooler up there in the north, Tallahassee. he's a Tallahassee lass.

OK Guys...Vegas in August it is. I will check with a couple of contacts and give you guys some dates and options (don't get too excited, I have contacts at places like Marriott's Residence Inn and Marriott's Suites, neither are casino properties and the Stratosphere). I will work on the 1st and 2nd week of the month and will give options of weekend and weekdays. I will not be offended if anyone can do better.
Cindy - Fly to LA first and we can road trip it to Vegas.

Joanna, we want to see you. We know how expensive it is, that is why we couldn't make it to Guam, and I would get we on the Hog.
