Thank you Juliet. I was going to thank RACman for the pic. it is just that, what the early Pacific sailors used for navigation.

It's called a stick chart. My parents have the same one hanging on their lanai in Hawaii. I'll have to ask my dad which constellation it is...

I must agree with DLR that Juliet and Sarah got this one right. I kind of remember years ago some one showing me on the those 'sea navigational tools'.

I agree. It looks just like star charts I see at the Micronesian fairs down at Ypao!

My step-father once told me that "the Universe is one big mathmatical equation". And I must agree with him on this! Astronomy and navigation is mathmatics. The equation is always changing, but the remainder will always be the same. Math goes way back in acient times. And continues to the infinite future. This 'Constilation Navigation System' is nothing but true mathmatic!

Wow!

i thought it was a current chart that the micronesians used as a 'map' between the island.
the shells are for the island, the sticks are the currents and direction to and fro.

Ric, your being real deep now. Kinda scary:) No but,I agree. Mathematics is what was sent to describe ourselves to others who may be interested in our neck of the universe...Don,don don...

Joanna, I can dig it, can you dig it? I knew that you could!

I have not graduated to the level of "who am I, what am I, or why am I? Nor have I come to the conclusion that the 'leaf' is the Universe.

Every day after work, I spend some alone time to star gaze and contemplate the Universe.

Deep! Love being really deep!
