Who remembers that little theatre? Mom or Dad used to drop a bunch of us 13 yr olds off in the morning, then come get us at 5. We watched Clint Easwood movies all day. He's still my hero.:)

There was the Cinema and the Agana Theater located farther down past the boat basin. All were only one screen places. The Hafa Adai Theaters were built in Tamuning. I think in the early 70's. They had a balcony. I remember seeing the "Exorsit" there and later on "Star Wars" was a big event. Around 1976 I think the Dededo theater was built. I remember seeing "little Big Man" there with my dad and Alice. The Johnston and Dededo and old Agana became porn theaters. Now there is a church in the Dededo, I think the Agana became a place for an Insurance Company. Everyone goes to the two big Malls which have several screens.

The Johnston was where all the filipino laborers would go to see those Charito Solis films.
The other one on Marine Drive is where we all went. Saw some really good Vincent Price movies too.
But the westerns were good too.

I was proposed to in the balcony of the theater in Tamuning. Steve and I used to go there all the time when we were dating. We would take a bottle of wine and drink it during the movie.

I remember going to the movies with our family on Guam. We saw Jesus Christ Super Star and The Poseidon Adventure. My stepfather told me of a great memory; when he went to the movies there with his friends while he was in High School on Guam. He said that he would sit in the balconies, put crunchy peanut butter in toilet paper, and throw it off the balcony. The reaction of the people below was awesome he said! Yes, my late great stepfather did have a great sense of humor as a high school student on Guam!
