Pic of the week

Our annual Mother's Day brunch at PIC came late this year. We always get a table next to the window.

Nice pic Paul! Keep them coming sir.

From where was this taken? I reconize 2 lovers point, Agana Bay, but not the swimming pool.

Its out of the window at he La Bistro restaurant in the PIC lobby. PIC is kind of nice to spend a night once in a while. They have many things to occupy your time; kayaking, wind surfing, miniature golf, archery, pool tables, ping pong, 3 or 4 swiming pools, sail boats, sqaush courts, tennis, basketball, badmitten, and on and on..

Thats Tumon bay you see, Agana (Hagatna now) is south west of here.

That point is where Gun Beach is, isn't it????
I got caught with a girl in my back seat by the cops at gun beach. I loved it there because there were no lights, it was dark. She cried so hard. I told her wasn't any thing. I bet to this day, she hasn't been in a back seat since. I was just mad at the cops.

It is. There's another beach between Gun and Two Lovers, called Faifai (or Powder Sand) beach but there's no road to it. Turtles lay eggs there.

Someone is building a resort right at Gun so parking is limited now. We feel like we've been robbed of a local historical site, even if it was private property. Chamorro remains were found when they started digging but that happens just about anywhere along Tumon. It slows them down while they move the bones but doesn't stop anything.

I hiked to the bottom of 2 lovers leap one time with Nancy Newman. Any way I am sooooo sorry to hear abut the "progress" of the area. I loved Gun Beach. That was the first time we got lost in the boonies. All of us kids were hiking through the boonies, next thing we knew we couldnt get down the cliff that we climed up. Sean ran into a whichdoctor spider web. Dad had to climb up the cliff and cary us down one at a time.
Getting caught by the cops and the hike with Nancy was much more memorable.

Paul, I can see why you never left Guam, you have it all there!

DRL, I remember that day being stuck on the cliff and Dad rescueing us. Man, that was scary!

Does anyone remenber the former Governor Bordalio (sp?) wanting to put a Giant Lotta Stone structure (300+ feet tall) at 2 Lovers point?

DRL said...

I remember Ric's 2 daughters, wow!

Paul said...

Do you remember that Bordallo chained himself to a statue at the Pasao loop in Agana before committing suicide by gun?

I was told that had happened. Before I left the Island he lost some of his bussneses and his boat to Pamila (typhoon). Well he didn't loose the boat, the bow sat on the reef for a long tome at Agana. Lost his helicopter for hunting from it and stuff was bad. But he still had 2 cut girls.

Will never forget that boat stuck on the reef after Pamela.

What is that building that looks like a big white bubble just to the right of the wooden A-from? Indoor gulfing rage?

Paul said...

They do wedding receptions there but normally its indoor tennis and badmitten.
