So who hung out with whom?

A long with my brothers Sean, Dave and Steve, I mainly hanged out with Dan, Julie, Amy, Randall and Island Jewels (and may others). I only got ass-woopens from the rest of you older guys.

I infiltrated the ranks of Sam and Mat. And also attempted to infiltrate Alice, but was shot down.

I do remember sitting in the bus stop with many guys and gals out side of my age group gang, like with Ben Bast. Him and I did contemplate the universe and chicks.

I lived in Deans Circle so long that I saw so many people come and go that I don't even remember all of them anymore. Sparks moved into the Circle in 67 and Sam, Alice and I became best friends. I was friends with Tony Postert the Montvel Cohens and some others that I don't remember. I remember sleepovers but not with whom. When the Larsons moved in well I don't need to elaborate. It was Pete and I and that was pretty much my gang.Thats a friendship thats legendary. No offense to Sam, he's my brother. Dr. Sparks used to call me his number 3 son. I don't want to sound stuck up but the Larsons and Sparks are really the only families I remember being close with. And then the other Larsons moved in late in the game and I hung out with them but mostly because I was trying to infiltrate Desi! Hahaha.

Ric, are you talking for real or in my dreams?

Hey, I figured by infiltrating into the ranks of Sam and Mat, maybe Alice would think I was cool! But was I ever so wrong. It was super cool and good hanging out the the older boys with out getting my ass kicked! :)

Oh, and what really sucked, Alice was just a few months older than me, but way so way out of my league!

Oh and before Larsons moved in I hung out with the Eldredge's. I remember playing over at their house a lot. I remember kicking it with Mark and Juls some and Robbie
Cleveland quite a bit. Yes it's all starting to come back to me. I even hung out with Chris Toal quite a bit. Man that was a looong
time ago. Sheesh where has the time gone.

I remember Jeff Cutts, he was from Orlando back before Orlando was anything more than a poor excuse for an orange grove. And I sure remember Tom Montvel Cohen, he was actually the first guy I met back in the circle upon our arrival in August of '67. Our baseball games at the ball field across from the Carraways (pre typhoon) were extremely competitive and the language that was used was decidedly blue in nature. Good times.
I remember Chris Toal too. His adoptive mom was pretty close to my parents because they went to the same church. His real name was Isidroe Canata Cruz. I wonder what ever happened to him. He would stomp your ass in a second if he thought you needed it. Jesus the ass kickings I took on that island.

Damn Doug, I remember Chris Toal , lived right next door. I'm sorry, I always felt for him. seems like he always had so many too damn chores. I did try to like make him happy sometimes...(trying to make him laugh). Chris if you're out there, wer're here. I'm sure you remember our hike up the mountain, that day and we had a "grownup"..(cant' remember who right now).I know robert was there and we drank all the water that night. the next day, hiking down the mountain, we were suffering....LOL the good ole days.

Does anyone remember the Monks? They lived at the top of the circle between Jonese's and Caraways. Their dad was a fruitcake and got kicked off the island for impersonating an Air Force officer.Or so the story goes. And yea those baseball games.Doug do you remember that there was a manhole out in far left field and that "spinach" that used to grow on the red clay. Youd run after a Fly ball and hit the patch of slime and hang on for dear life man. Or youd run into the sleeping grass that grew out there as well, Ouch! Ah the memories.

There was a house between the Carraways and the Jones? My memory must be fading. As i remember it was the Toals/Carraways/Jones/Copelands/Tansys/Somebody I don't remember than the Basts/Montvel Cohen on down to Larsons and the Sicklers and the cliff path to our beloved playground.

mat said...

I told you I lived there too long.
Maybe the Monks were before the Caraways.

mat said...

You know I just went back in the blog where the areial of the circle was and now I'm thinking that Monks lived in Jones's house.
Where's Juliet because she knows.

Hung around with Kim Jewell, Verna Hagen (had a major crush on Carl), Joan Garrett, Dana Spade and a family I cannot remember. I was a total spaz and was always picked last (if at all) for football (yeah...Clay always picked Cindy). Those were the days!!!

pat said...

no, no house between Caraways and jones.

pat said...

Damn...maybe it was "tao ta mona"

pat said...

All those ghosts I saw growing up, lived in the house between Caraways and the JONESES..( scary music)

DRL said...

Juls, yes, I loved that game. I have tried to remember whos lawn that was. I just remember the old lady saying that it was okay to play in her yard, but she would get mad if we used her water hose to drink out of.

Good to see you back!
