The Go Cart

I traded Sammy Sparks a blank gun and a switch blade for this machine.

When I got this cart from Sam, it had a big twin cylinder engine on it that didn't run. Pete and I mowed lawns and saved up our money to buy a brand new 6 hp Briggs and Stratton power plant for it. Later on it ended up with a 4 speed, Suzuki RV90 engine.

Someone brought this rig by our house one day and my Dad jacked with the governor to make it rev higher. The cart left our yard in a fury, at speeds never before imagined. The driver made it over the first curb but was unable to avoid the curb on the other side of the street. The cart flipped upside down with its driver stuck inside and gas dripping all over him. I think my Dad felt pretty bad… but it sure was freaking cool.

I don't quite remember that go-cart,but I do remember Sam's dunebuggy. Matt,Sam and I would cruise around in it.They said that I said something about science that blew their minds. I was around older people so, I think I was making my own conclusions....

Origionally it had a solid axle. Pete and Dave split the axle and one wheel was the drive wheel, and the other was the brake wheel.
It was insane to drive. Don't give it gas and try to make a right turn, cause it wouldn't.

That was my brother Dave that flipped that thing, it never did run right until your dad worked on it. Your dad was an excellent mecanic.
We used to haul some ass aroud the coconut grove on that thing, at least when it actually ran.
