My daughter Aubrey is on a local horse ranch
After realizing my faults,I thought of my daughter Aubrey. Before she turned 12 yrs.old,I took her for horse riding lessons.I logged on and there she was.The owner is Pat Sakai and is such a cool man. It's under www.myspace.com/horsesguam.Check out John Wayne also:)

The John Wayne comment was Pat's way of telling parents kind of what to expect. He was really gentle with Aubrey but, firm. He made his horse go in circles because she wasn't listening.
Very cool. One of my fondest memories of Guam was horse back riding at Talofofo. I wonder if the horses had anything to do with the color of the sand? ;)
Joanna, I am curious, where in Mangilao do you live?
I usedto ride horses at Talafofo too. My classmate at St. Francis was John Mesa and his family owned the riding stables. I used to hang out there after school and what was cool was that there was a cave on the cliff behind the stables and they had converted it into living quarters for the boys. Electricity and all. There were bunk beds in there and I always thought that was cool. I enjoyed riding too.
Mat,There were 3 photos of my daughter but,I took another look and now there is one. I guess they spelled her name wrong, but you could see her beautiful face and how much she's grown. My Dad would drop Dean,Steve and I at that ranch in Talafofo. Steve was trampled a bit. It tore his jeans open on his legs. Those were the wild cowboy/girl days on Guam:)Oh, I'm going to call Brudda Pat and ask what happened.I'll check it out now:)
Pat Sakai is from Hawaii and he saved that oldest horse.Apparently, that ranch fell apart. He now has 8 horses. Try as he might,Luna passed away recently after running off their ranch and into metal. Sam went to all lengths to help with bandages and antibiotics. It was so sad because she was Chaz's daughter. He let her graze until she fell. I feel for Pat because he doesn't have kids and Luna was born there and was only 3 yrs.old.He's really so cool and down to Earth:)

Correction,That was supposed to be Juliet and husband. My bad,but I talked to her this morning and we're planning to get together soon.Paul's in Yap diving right now but, will be back shortly in a couple of days:)
Joanna, cool.
Me and horses don't get along. I do believe they are just like dogs and can pick the weak out of the crowd, me. The last time I have been on a work horse (well, just not a dude horse), was with my cousin Dick Nedrow. The saddle slipped back on his, shall I say haunches (yes, I used spell check). He did not like this, and figured I was the cause to all his problems. He started bucking and eventually as he was going up, I was going down. Yes, I lit with my left hamstring on the horn. I then flew with the "greatest of ease" and hit the ground. Lost my breath, struggling to breath, motioning for some life supporting help from Dick and my father-in-law (oh, did I mention I have much greater in-laws than my wife does?). Anyway, they were both laughing to hard to help me. Dick has asked if I wanted to ride again, and I reply something like, "WHAT, ARE YOU CRAZY!!!". I figure he just needed a good laugh after a hard days work, or fight with his wife Mary.
Thanks agian for this.
Yeah DRL,I learned when Steve was trampled to respect horses but,it wasn't his fault. The horses just started running and Dean and I somehow ran away faster.I think it was feeding time.
My daughter on the other hand adores horses. Her other pictures will be back on soon.As for me I pet them ,but that memory like yours sticks in my mind:) I rode one though at Sam's twin's party this last January.
