David Axlerod Email

Did David Axlerod send anyone here on the blog an Email from the white house trying to convince you to support the president's health care plan? Solicited or unsolicited?

I received it this morning, unsolicited. I guess I'm on 'the list'

If one were sent to me, my SPAM filter must have blocked it out? Never got it!

But Dave, if you’re on ‘the list’, I’m sure I’m right there with you buddy. Your in good company!

My wife sent an email to our local congressman/senator. Aparently, her email address has been pass on to the White House SPAM machine.

Just don't bother asking Gibbs how you got the email. You'll be treated like Major Garrett.

Does anyone believe this press secretary is anything other than a buffoon?

Buffoon??? Bingo!

Did your wife cc: any of you in her email. Maybe that is how you ended up with an auto reply.

He's the White House Press Secretary. What do you expect, Alistaire Cooke?
Just out of curiosity Ric, in your opinion what makes him any more of a "buffoon" than any of the others before him?
Or, finding yourself bereft of original thought do you simply choose to parrot the words and thoughts of others?

My wife never wrote anything to the white house, she wrote to on of our members of congress. What I'm worried about is that our congress members are passing sharing email addresses with the white house.

Doug said...

Quite possible.

Did she send it through facebook? You know many of those cute little games we play on there and stuff like send food and drinks are really just spam programs. Once you play they have access to all your friends lists and account info. Like if you use the function to find friends and it asks for your email account and password.

juliet said...

Why don't you write them and ask how they got your address.

Dave said...

This is under investigation. Thousands of Americans got the same email and have never had any contact directly with the white house. It seems that email addresses are being accumulated and passed on to the current administration.

What did the letter say? Why don't you scan it and post it.

All of you e-mail recipients will have plenty of time to catch up and exchange documents in "camp".

Along the same lines there is now legislation being implemented nation wide (on the state level) pertaining to drivers license renewal.
Effective 1/1/10 in order to renew your drivers license here in FL you will be required to produce a Social Security card as well as a birth certificate (original or certified copy). This is for renewals mind you. New license requirements are even stricter.
All of this is leading to national ID cards. Bet on it.

White House Press Secretary has to be the most thankless job in the world. Attacking the guy seems a trifling argument.

Sean said...

Doug, why worry about a national ID when - with the computerized medical records - the federal government will know everything about you and your ancestors. They will most certainly start collecting DNA and fluid samples from every one of us and have them in a giant databank, the likes of which this world has never seen.

See you in Gattaca.

Next up, privately owned radio stations, 'talk radio' is coming under fire from our latest and newest czar. He will fine and tax them into oblivion. So much for freedom of speech in America.

Dave said...

" Mark Lloyd, newly appointed Chief Diversity Officer of the Federal Communications Commission, has called for making private broadcasting companies pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs to allow public broadcasting outlets to spend the same on their operations as the private companies do. "

" Lloyd’s hope is to dramatically upgrade and revamp the Corporation for Public Broadcasting through new funding drawn from private broadcasters. "

Don't expect you Email (or Email addresses) to be private any more then your telephone conversations. We are, after all, at war.

Its a good thing.
(or has that changed to now?)

Sean said...

"We are at war, after all"

hmm

We are making drastic cuts to defense spending.

We are not allowed to use the word "victory" to describe our goal.

We are not allowed to even name the enemy.

Some war, huh?

Doug said...

Oh I believe it's a war. I don't know how you can proclaim victory when you're not even sure who you're fighting on a particular day.
Al Qaida? The Taliban? Tribal warlords? Militant fundamentalists?
Who the hell knows.
There's a reason Afghanistan has been referred to as the country where empires go to die.
