I am so seeing that movie tomorrow.

Definitely looks like a winner. I'll have to sneak off and get some myself this weekend.

Just returned from the theater and have to say I was not disappointed. IMO it's one of those rare instances where the movie was better than the trailers. I'm not always a Tarantino fan but this one should win him some gold.

I'll have to wait till it comes out on DVD. It is Ramadan here and there are no English movies in the theater.

Hey, Brad Pitt is in it. Hello girls???

Doug said...

Loved it!

Did they kill a buncha natsies?

Cindy said...

I am going to see it this afternoon.

Doug said...

Did they kill a buncha natsies?

Most heinously.

Well, I didn't end up going to see it...had a date and we went to the beach and had dinner and argued politics....first black guy I ever went out with...he was in a disco band in 70's and 80's, has traveled all over the world, who would have thought he was ultra conservative and does not like Obama...OMG, how annoying...lesson learned for me...that's what I get for assuming something about someone based on appearances.

Doug said...

Disco sucks.

Sean said...

damn those annoying blacks who are determined to make up their own minds and not fall in with the black=democrat rule.

Cindy said...

Oh, he has the FOX News script down pat..I had heard it all so many times before. It's like you all have it programmed into some chip in your brain or something...that's not making up your own mind.

Pat said...

But will you see him again anyway Cindy?

Doug said...

Perhaps even more importantly, when are you going to see the movie?
If I lived a little closer I'd take you and Patsy. It's good enough in my opinion to see twice.
There's this guy that plays a nazi officer that's a "jew hunter" and he really gives Pitt a run for his money.
He is one cagey so and so.

Cindy said...

For sure will go to the movie...the guy? Not so sure about him..not because of his political views but he's a total narcissist.

Cindy said...

Narcissistic man..I guess that's redundant...hahaha

Cindy said...

Except for Doug!!!

Ric Larson said...

Who’s the ‘Narcissistic Man’? If not Doug, then who?

Ric Larson said...

…the “first black guy I ever went out with”?

Ric Larson said...

The last reference I saw from the DSM –IV; had to deal with “Christmas Carols for the Psychiatrically Challenged”. NARCISSISTIC- Hark the Herald Angels Sing (About Me).

Doug said...

Cindy, his loss.

Sean, once again…bingo!

"damn those annoying blacks who are determined to make up their own minds and not fall in with the black=democrat rule."

Just curious Sean but is the implication here that blacks that have what may be interpreted as a Republican ideology are exercising intelligent thought, while those that conversely adhere to what may be interpreted as Democratic ideology are not? What of those that are Independent? Are they only somewhat determined to make up their own minds? Are they only mildly annoying?
I wonder what was the political affiliation of the black man that made up his own mind and decided it would be a fine idea to bring his semi-automatic rifle while demonstrating outside the venue of one of the President's recent town hall meetings. I suppose he had made up his own mind. It is after all entirely possible that the city could be overtaken by mutant flesh eating zombies at any moment.
You know what, never mind. You're right. They are annoying.

Ric Larson said...

Doug, I think all Sean was mentioning is that not all black men agree with our Prez, just because he is ½ black. There are those blacks out there that think with their own minds. If a black man were to only like our Prez because he is ½ black, wouldn’t that make them racist? And why is a black person put down because he is conservative? Why do Liberals anticipate and expect all Black people to be liberals? Isn’t that thought alone racist or discriminatory?

Ric Larson said...

"damn those annoying blacks who are determined to make up their own minds and not fall in with the black=democrat rule."

Good point Sean!

Cindy said...

Well, I had thought being an entertainer and world traveler would have also indicated that he was more open minded..and I found him annoying because he was not willing to listen to any one else's opinion....he was just spouting Fox News propaganda. I was only making the point that I was wrong for making assumptions about someone before getting to know them. Thanks Doug, yes his loss.

Pat said...

Doug...Waiting, movies with you. ;)

Pat said...

P.S. Cindy. If he doesn't like Obama, (omen girl)

Pat said...

I meant Amen

Pat said...

Is It alot of blood and guts? can't take that.

Sean said...

Wow, Doug, I'll have to find an "satire smiley" for when I post comments like that in the future.

I am only commenting on the assumption that many make concerning blacks and party affiliation. I think many assume that black americans are democrats and are surprised to find that some are not. And, I don't mean that white americans are the only ones making this assumption. I can imagine he has some pushback from his community for his idiology.

rac said...

I suppose if a liberal voting Methodist preacher isn't a "true Christian" and a soldier who voted for Obama is "unpatriotic" then it's probably fair to say that a black man who watches Fox probably hates disco... oh wait... never mind.

rac said...

BTW, I do think Sean makes a harsh but valid point. I'm almost always wrong whenever I try to categorize people based on who I think they should be. Someday I'll learn to let them speak for themselves.

Doug said...

Robert,
I agree. I have said all along that I think are just a bit more complicated than the labels that are attached to them by others.
That said.
Slinging an AR-15 over one's shoulder and standing out on a public street corner is not advancing one's political agenda. Nor is it demonstrably exercising your second amendment rights.
It's just being a dick.

Doug said...

Oops, should have said "people" are a bit more complicated.
My apologies.

Sean said...

Doug - I agree - it is probably not the best message to send when trying to make a point.

On the other hand, what sort of message does it send when the network news CROPS the video so you don't know it is a black man and then commnents about the "racial overtones" of "someone" showing up at a town hall with a gun to protest a black president...

Doug said...

Pat,
it's really not THAT gory. I mean you get the general idea what's going on but it's not a spew fest.

Pat said...

Ok, can I hold your hand Doug?

Doug said...

You bet. We can smuggle a couple of Budweisers in your purse.
Good times.

Pat said...

I do have a big purse.

Pat said...

Doug, just please tell me, He dies at the end right?
I swear to God I won't tell any one!

Doug said...

If you mean the character played by Pitt no. He actually is one of the few to survive the carnage.

Pat said...

Lets go to the movies Doug.

Pat said...

I gotta see it now!
