Is that Merric an epoxy? I have a new 7-0 Byrne epoxy that I picked up after I blew out my knee. I rode it last winter and it felt pretty good, but I was still pretty weak and couldn't put it to the test. I'm looking forward to this winter!
Yeah, that Merrick is an epoxy. I got rid of it recently in Tahiti, as that stick just didn't do for me. I rather ride my GPang V2W epoxy. Those Byrne epoxy sticks look way hot.
The thing about Tahiti though is that the rails have to be right-angle razors from about 2 inches up from the 2 forward skegs. They call these "BUMP RAILS" and they are much needed for Tahiti's waves. I rode Teahupo'o in August 2005 and also Haapiti in Moorea. Also rode Vairao and Pierrot in Tahiti. Pierrot is the "right side" of Teahupo'o. Sick waves.
