Greg Ambrose, Johnny Borja and Hank Pickop at Boat Basin Guam. I made that 7'6" "star-tail" in 1 day + 1 day to cure, for Merizo. Merizo was pumping 8 - 10 feet on this one swell and I needed to have a stick that was especially for that swell. This stick was thinner than normal ... and the glassing job...well, the color was not important to me so I just used Blue tint and glassed quickly.
On the 2nd day, I was zipping down to Merizo with this blue 7'6" in the passenger side of my red Austin-Healey convertible ... curing as I was driving South past Agat, past Umatac and into Merizo.

Hey Johnny, what are you grabbing a hold of there?
Hey Johnny, I think you used to visit up in Yigo at Perez Acres. Do these names sound familiar Shirley Dulco, Tracy Wood,Kathy Moore,Coleen, Barb Meyers...didn't I last see you in Hawaii around 79'I think C&K were having a concert.
Hey Johnny, I still see Greg Ambrose surfing Laniakea now and then!
Hey Juliet,
Of course I remember everyone of those people up at Perez Acres. I saw Shirly in Chicago around 2001.
And yes, you & I did see each other on Oahu around '79. I was a lifeguard at the Outrigger Canoe Club then. Remember Coco Joe?
Jeff, Greg did email me several months ago. We were chatting about some local Guamanian surfers that wanted to kick my ass, and I was sharing with Greg that I told those locals who were posing as more local than me, to fuck off. They were more pissed off, but screw 'em. I'll still take off deeper and get more barrels than those freakin' wanna-be's.
Dave, I don't know what I was thinkin' when this photo was taken, but who knows... Hank, Greg and I were simply fuckin' around.
