Country Reyes Story
I was looking through my yearbook and thought about when Frank “Country” Reyes murdered 3 people in the summer of 1974 (The end of my junior year) He worked at GWHS, and Doug, Jim, and Allan had him as one of their football coaches. Heroin was involved; the victims included the son of a judge and the daughter of a businessman. I did some searching on the web and found out that he spent a total of 7 years in prison, most of it in a halfway house. Apparently while doing time worked as a bus driver, got a 14 year old girl pregnant then married a DOC officials daughter (who was later accused of misappropriation of school funds) There was some outrage last month because the Lutheran Church of Guam was showing a collection of photographs taken by him that “reflect many of his life experiences and family ties”. Amazing! OOG

what is amazing(besides the libral leaning criminal system) is I went to that same luthran chruch.
Talking about the great "system", Wasn't it Dan Larson that a teacher beat up. As I recall, the teacher held Dan up by the kneck againt a pole? I believe it was in Yona.
And at Baragada Jr. High, The vice principal raped a girl in his office. He was moved to another school, where he got a student pregnant.
OOG (only on Guam)!
As I recall, they weren't your run-of-the-mill murders either. The stories painted a pretty sadistic crime scene - aka Charie Manson style.
Yeah, I remember going to the funeral for Greg Abbate over at the end of Magundas, at where Dwight "Ike" Ikehara threw a flower lei into the water.
RIP to him and to the Faria girl, who was Robert Cabaddu's (bassist for Cat Tail ... remember that band)ex-girlfriend. There was another girl who was killed there also, but I forget the name. T'was a tragic situation that really rocked the island vibe.
Cindy, I remember when Kim and I heard our dance teacher and her friends were murdered. It was a guy that worked on our play and we all had a crush on him. I'll never forget that. I tried to talk to kids at school and they were like..shutup...they were on his side...so I shutup.
Yep I remember Country, he was our coach on the JV team. He was quite insane. I seem to recall that he would keep rocks in his pocket during games and if a ref made what he thought was a bad call he would throw them at the offending official.
7 years for a triple homicide?! OOG.
