These Typhoons are only two of many that blasted the Marianas over the past years. I'm sure that Paul and Joanna could give us a first hand account of what it was like to live through all of them. Juliet and others of us, have also survived the big storms and their awesome but devastating power.

Stadium effect around the eye. That is one mean mofo right there.

We weathered Typhoon Omar in a condo a the bottom of Barrigada Hill. Just before eye passage I walked pass the in-laws playing poker at the dining room table when I hear a loud "SHLOIK" sound. I look over at the sliding glass door that is two feet away from the table and see the glass has bent so far the aluminum frame has popped off the sides of the door. So I plant my self on the glass (probably the second stupidest thing I've ever done) and start yelling for duct tape. I pushed the glass flat enough to pull and tape the side pieces back again. The duct tape held till the eye hit 15 minutes later and the wind shifted to the other side of the house afterward.

I don't think any of the poker players had any idea what was going on.

Hey Paul, what was the first stupidest thing you've ever done?

You know as Paul got older his hair got really curly. Paul do you remember letting me put dippity-Do on it and rolling it all in pink rollers. My best hairdo ever. We couldn't wash the curl out of his hair. I bet at the time you thought that was the stupidest thing you let some one do to you. That is what I like about Paul, willing to try something at least once.
