Juliet,wasn't Pat a surfer. If so once again Dean would know, he hung out with all the surfers,young and old. He looked up to the older ones of course,more experience! Try e-mailing him, maybe that'll bring him in.
Pat Atherton is very much alive. I just spoke to him a few months ago. He got married to a Filipina lady and still lives in Ordot, by the KUAM station.
I use to stay over at Pat's mobile home, also in Ordot.
Pat is a surfer, and a crazy one at that. Since he's only got partial vision, he wore thick glasses for driving his white jeep, but in the water ... well, he was just about blind, and took off on some monster waves at left side Boat Basin and at right side blue-buoy Merizo. Pat & I surfed together a lot, and most memorably at Right Side Boat Basin, we were the only 2 out when it broke 8' - 10' (seriously big for this break), and it made the Guam Daily News. I was in that news publication, for anyone who remembers, and it was titled "Johnny B. Goode". So long ago, but quite memorable.
