Evolution and liberalism

How did we survive as a species (let alone become the unquestionably dominant species on this planet) without liberalism? How did we evolve without lawyers, class action suites, entitlements, redistribution of wealth, government mandated healthcare and the ACLU? And, while we're at it, do you think these philosophies will enhance our evolutionary growth or stunt it?

Listen I don't know about all that, What little I can recall from my rare moments of lucidity back in college is that Darwinism was the instinctual and inherent tendency of organisms to transform from generation to generation within their environment from a lower to a higher order. Anyone that doubts that organisms do indeed evolve need only look at viruses and all their pathogen friends. They constantly mutate. They become penicillin and drug resistant. They defeat hosts' natural defense systems by changing their genetic code. They evolve.
