Pakistani Religious Leader Issues Fatwa on President for Complimenting Palin

Folks, you just can't make this stuff up...

A radical Muslim prayer leader in Pakistan condemns Asif Ali Zardari's "indecent gestures" toward Sarah Palin, calling it a disgrace to all of Pakistan to say the Western woman is "gorgeous."

Yes, it is a great insult to comment on a womans physical appearance or anything about her for that matter. It offends a womans honor.

Yet it's perfectly acceptable to execute a woman that "allowed" herself to be gang raped. Unusual social mores these fundamentalists.

Well the way they look at these siuations is that if a woman follows the strict codes of behavior she shouldn't ever be in a position to be dishonored, so if something happens it is her fault and through her reckless behavior the family honor is tainted. SO the guys in the family can get rid of the loose canon so to speak so the situation is not likely to come about again. Of course the men don't want to be guilty of not protecting the women in the family properly. Everytime I see these women in thier black bag covers I think of "cousing it" Women in Pakistan need four male witness to prove they were raped before any one takes them seriously. I spent three years in Karachi.
