I mean, of course, PORK barrel.

The answer is "nothing" but this is how the legislature works. In order to pass a bill, everyone gets their pet project injected to ensure their vote. This goes for both parties, to be sure.

They are so used to bribes and kickbacks from their constituents and special interests, they just apply the same way of working to each other.

We should throw them all out and start over. Maybe we can put the senate and house under lock out (like we do to sport players).

That makes sense to me but,my brother Sam says that you and Mat are retarded.(His words, not mine)Don't shoot the messenger again. He said write to him and the debate will continue.

Yep, funny how the rescue bill earlier this week was "too expensive for the people" at $700 Billion but now at closer to $800 Billion is more likely to pass the House. I should apply for a Federal grant, something along the lines of The Scottish Heritage Consortium For The Protection And Preservation Of The Eastern Snail Darter. Ought to be worth at least a couple hundred grand.

Jo, I would never shoot you or Sam but Sam can get an invite from Robert or Dave and get on the blog like everyone else. Yep thats how liberals are. Can't think of anything to come back with so they resort to name calling. It really is like we were kids back at the circle. Have Sam read this. Hey Sam, man up and get on the blog bro. When some other people got fed up they chose silence. They chose to just quit participating to me thats just as bad as name calling. Not me. I'm not scared to debate and argue with my buds. Wer'e all friends here. I may not be as articulate as some and maybe better than others but I'll go toe to toe with anyone here on my beliefs. Come on Sam I'm calling you out brother.

Makes about as much sense as me saying Yep that's how conservatives are. Can't think of anything to come back with so they resort to sweeping generalizations.
I have to believe Sam's comments were made with tongue in cheek as are many of mine. I enjoy presenting an opposing viewpoint. It's unfortunate that some of our fellow Deans Circle alum have become so sensitive in their middle age.

Mat, you just brought a tear to my eye pal! Silence is very wise during name calling. Who would even want to lower themselfs to name calling? But respectfully debating ones own beliefs is very honorable, especially when you have the trueth behind you!

Doug - I, for one, absolutely enjoy our topical discussions. There wouldn't be much point if this blog were full of people who all had the same ideas about everything, would it? I think not.

So, count me in.

Sean, your intelect, common sense and wisdom...I respect and have always admired brother! You go man!

Mat, you and Sean make a good team on commen sense!

Ric Larson said...

And Doug, I respect your point of view as well. A bunch of validity in your words I find as well. I always like to be nonjudgmental while reading both sides of the story, then I make up my own mind.

Ric Larson said...

Sean, I always felt that if you got rid of the 'PORK' (from both parties) our economic status would be a little bit more rosey.

Doug, If I were so sensitive as you say I wouldn't still be on the blog. I would have dropped out like some others. Sam is my brother in my heart and where I know a lot of what he says may be tongue in cheek I also know that he means some of what he says. I have never called anyone on this blog a name tongue in cheek or otherwise. If I don't like someones viewpoint I just say so.

Besides Doug, what do you care. I thought that you have always been a registered republican. I think you're more of an independant. I'm more Libertarian. The point I'm trying to make is if you don't agree get involved and get on board. Don't hide behind "I'm to busy". That was Sams excuse for not getting on the blog in the first place. But you have the time to read and publish rebutals through a proxy? WTF!

Ric Larson said...

I don't think Sam needs an 'invite', as he is already registered in the 'profiles'. Have a lot of good memories hanging out with Sam...he may think other wise about me though? But would be nice to see him 'blog on'

Be a man Sam, log on! ;)

As for saying people are 'retarded',....I advocate and work with/for 'real people that are 'retarded' and or have 'mental illnesses'.

That was a very low blow to those that can not defend themselfs.

mat said...

Gee Ric, Are you saying that I can't defend myself? Shooot Balut bring it on!

Ric Larson said...

No, not at all Mat, you have proven that you can stand your own ground, and have inspired others to do the same! ROCK ON!

Joanna said...

Sam said to call him Mat!!!Or email him.Sean too.Peace...

Ric Larson said...

Joanna, just want to 'lay it on the line' for you. It is never wise to be the messenger. Let those that have comments speak for themselves. And be so very careful of what you say and relay, as you may be unintentionally offending much more than one person directly or inderectly. Just a small word of advise!;)

mat said...

It's ok Ric. Jo I will call Sam when I can. It's cool. He should have my number though I've called him before. I really am working on my cars and getting some late season fishing in.

Ric Larson said...

It's cool and OK Mat! I winked ;) at Jo. ;) meaning all is cool to whom you are writing to...I hope!? ;)!

Sam and Matt were best friends during the "Wonder Years" and Jo is forever going to be the little sister. Perfectly normal that she gets things going by telling one what the other said. Sam historically was usually a neutral party, like Switzerland.

Joanna said...

Thanks Juliet,You're right, perfectly normal. He rescinded the retarded name because he said it wasn't PC so,instead said they were so mentally challenged that they couldn't think themselves out of a paper sack ,using they're buttocks to think with:)Just Passing this latest one on...I tell Sam to log on.I hope he does for every one's sake:)
