Where is the protest song about Obama???????

Hey, more troops are dying in Iraq and civilian casualties are up in Afghanistan. So, Cindy, where is the protest song about this to Obama???
You hate the war so much, and Obama was suppose to pull us out, but more are dying now than when Bush was in office. So, why the double standard? What is it that you have for Obama? If he lied to you, aren't you mad? Come on, don't waffle on us now. I know how you feel, so speak up. Post a protest song or admit you were wrong.

oops, sorry. Obama is the new messiah. can't do anything wrong, and no one will stand up to him.
Have you seen in the nightly news about the rise in deaths? No! They are on his side just like Cindy is.

If I recall correctly Obama said all along that the fight should have been waged in Afghanistan. To that end his stated intentions were to step down operations in Iraq while increasing the American presence in Afghanistan.

DRL said...

Double talk, he said that he would get us out. So, is the war different under Obama? If it is war, shouldn't Cindy also post a protest war against him, or is war okay now because it is not Bush's war?????
See, if you hate war, you hate war. No matter who's war. If you are going to protest the war, then protest it. I think because it is Obama's war now, it is okay. See, I watched when I heard that American casualties and civilian casualties are "on the rise". None of the liberal media is fronting this information. So, Doug, it is okay to fight the war, if it is Obama???

DRL said...

Doug, I see that you would not address the fact that more people are dying under Obama.

See Doug and Cindy, it is a double standard to stand behind Obama and his war, but not the former President. All Obama has to do is call for a "haste retreat". If you do not know what that is, I am sure Ric, who was an Army Officer, can explain. It is sickening how Cindy and others treated the military under Bush and now it is okay to kill and be killed.

DRL,
This may come a surprise to you but we're not hanging on your every word.
Go get a massage or something.

DRL, Yes, I was commissioned in the Army back in 1996. I still hold a Commission in the IRR (it is indefinite).

But to let all you Vets on this blog know, I am a “Mustang” (in Army terms, a former Enlisted grunt gone Officer). Prior to my Officer Training (ROTC) and Commission, I held the rank of E-5 Sgt. in the National Guard. In the Army I held the highest respect for the enlisted; especially the Non-Commissioned and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer ranks. They are the backbone of the military.

And never once did I ask my men to call me “sir”. When they did, I told them to just call me L.T.

My guess is that the reason why no one is protesting our current Prez., is because he is “Obama”. Love is blind sometimes.

President Obama has vowed to create 3.5 million jobs by 2010. But the latest unemployment report shows Obama will have his work cut out for him.

The economy lost another 539,000 jobs in April, bumping the unemployment rate up to 8.9 percent, the highest in 26 years, according to the Labor Department report released Friday.

That figure already exceeds assumptions made by Obama's economic advisers when they pushed for a $787 billion stimulus package -- a measure that they said would be critical in reviving the slumping economy.

To reach his 3.5 million-jobs goal, Obama needs at least 138.6 million people employed by next year, leaving him with a job deficit of nearly 6.2 million jobs, according to the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

J.D. Foster, a senior fellow in economics at the Heritage Foundation, who performed the analysis, argues Obama's policies will only widen the gap.

"Unfortunately, the president's policies will more likely decrease employment than help to reach his target," he wrote in his analysis.

"Policies like higher tax rates on small businesses, sustained massive budget deficits, doubling the national debt (and the consequent upward pressure on interest rates) and the building threats of government meddling in companies are eroding the foundations of the economy today and for the future," he said.

The White House did not respond to an e-mail seeking an interview for this story.

In pushing to get his stimulus package passed in Congress, Obama's economic team said that without the federal spending jolt, the unemployment rate would hit 8.8 percent by the last fiscal quarter of 2010. With the package, his advisers argued, the unemployment rate would only reach 7 percent.

The advisers acknowledged, though, that there estimates could be off the mark.

"There is the obvious uncertainty that comes from modeling a hypothetical package rather than the final legislation passed by the Congress," they wrote in a memo. "Our estimates of economic relationships and rules of thumb are derived from historical experience and so will not apply exactly in any given episode."

Obama has claimed that his stimulus package has already saved or created more than 150,000 jobs. But the U.S. economy has lost more than 2 million jobs since he took office, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, seeming to undercut Obama's claim.

But it's hard to tell exactly where Obama's record stands -- or where he thinks it stands -- because the White House has not yet announced how it intends to count jobs created by the stimulus bill. Obama's number is based on a job-counting formula that his economists have developed but have not made public.

Whatever the formula, economists who study job creation say it will require some creative math. That's because Obama has lumped "jobs saved" in with "jobs created." Even economists for organizations that stand to benefit from the stimulus concede it probably is impossible to estimate saved jobs because that would require calculating a hypothetical: how many people would have lost their jobs without the stimulus.

The fight was waged in Afghanistan and moved to Iraq. It is what it is. Obama is in charge now and so far nothing has changed. Thats ok. I don't think any one literally thought he was going to get sworn in and the next day order every troop out of the country. You beat me to it rac but I was getting a little tired of all the rants about the war. To my fellow right wingers, you wanna bring about change? Be part of the solution. Go to a tea party. If you can't then call the organizer and give them some cash so they can buy coffee and snacks. Vote next election. Vote only for candidates that stand for the same thing we do. Meet your neighbors and shoot the breeze with them. On your day off fire up the grill and have a cook out and invite them over. Find out what they care about. Call or write your congressman and your mayor and your governor and tell them exactly like that. The gigs up and we're not gonna take it any more and if they don't get on board they won't have a job much longer. You know why the left won? Not because they had a better message or anything as noble as that. They did a much better job of getting the vote out. Lets not have it happen again. Back to the war. Obama has no more control over the war than he does over gas prices. To be honest he said all along that we needed to refocus our efforts in Afghanistan and we are. If its not working and more people die and Iraq goes to shit,so be it. At least he did what he said. It will be his pile of shit to clean up. Go back to the beginning of my rant. Ask yourselves. Are you doing everything possible to right the ship? If the answer is no then you are part of the problem. Its time to regroup fellas. Remember the code. We operate on a need to know basis. And just so you know rac, I am always willing to put up or shut up. Shame on you for expecting anything less from a circle rat. OK now lets dispatch with the niceties and get this party started.Yeehaw.

I was at a function today that involved a daughter of a very proponent nationally known Democratic figure. After my (very) brief business with her, her father walked up to me and said, "I am…so and so”. I responded… “ And”? He then turned around and walked away. Does any one think I insulted him? ;)

Most of you Liberals would just cream your pants if you knew whose father I met today. (No, it was not a Clinton).

Any guesses?

Ric, it is proper etiquette for a lady or gentleman to return the gesture when a stranger introduces himself. Allowing political ideology to adversely effect how one presents him/her self in public speaks volumes of one's moral character. It's one thing for us to be rude on the blog, but we should really act like ladies and gentlemen when in public. It would have been fine to engage him in spirited discourse but you should still have followed the rules of common decency (was Joe the Plumber an asshole when he met Obama - no he was not - yet he still managed to express his opposing views). I know in my liberal household my Mom and Dad would have smack us upside the head for such rude behavior... I suspect your parents would have done the same.

BTW, nice post mat. ;)

mat said...

Like wise rac. Shame on you ric.You know better. Come on we need to be bigger than that. That could have been a once in a lifetime opportunity to tell it like it is and have a spirited debate. It could have made a difference and changed a mind. I'm not pickin on ya ric. I would just rather not give "Them" the satisfaction.Hehehe.How'm I doin rac?

Well eight years of continued crapping is a big mess to clean up in 100 days.

Mat, you are starting to sound like a politician. I say, Mat Kalb for president in 2012! Remember, pinky in the air when you drink da buttweisher.

Ric could you post the links that you are getting your stats from. I think your latest might be from Fox.news.

Bush only continued making the mess where the previous presidents left off. Obama's going to finish it. Take the blinders off and you'll see, we're headed down a path of no return. The puppet masters are hard at work destroying America as we once knew it, one increment at a time. You can be optimistic all you want. It won't matter who takes the Whitehouse next, the damage will be done.

RAC, your response was just as I had expected! This ex-politician is no stranger, but a very well known public figure… known nationally. And it was this ex-politician that lacked in etiquette under the circumstances when approaching me to identify them self.

RAC, I know proper etiquette, and know how to appropriately respond when it no not used correctly in my presents. ;)

Everyone, good conversation.
See, I believe that it is up to the administration to do their job. Remember that Bush took over during a reseccion. He turned it around. If you are using the last 8 years as an excuse not to get things done, remember Bush passed almost every bill the democrat run congress put before him, thus it was (with the exception of the war) a democrat run 8 years. The democrats were in charge of "oversight" of the banks and lending institutions. That is where the present recesion started. The democrats should be blamed for the recesion, but they aren't. Oh, and I am going to post a quote form Obama that states he was going to have a 6 month pull out of Iraq. He lied.

Ric, good research. But I heard it on CNN that the jobless rate hit its highest point in a generation. Obama has dug himself a big hole. I am tired of his lies.

DRL said...

Oh and I agree with Juliet about being rude. There are very few people in this world that I would turn away from, but for those, it would be much more rude of me to toe the line with them. It is sometime better to turn and hold your tongue. I however speak my mind far to often. We have a very famous man in town that I have told what I have thought of him on more than one ocasion. Being rich or famous means nothing to me when it comes to character.

juliet said...

I am a little confused here, I thought you supported the war Drl. So why are you in such a hurry for the pull out?

DRL said...

Na, I am here to just confuse.
No, I support the war and I think we should stay until the job is done.
I just know there have been protest under the Bush admin., and wounder why they stopped, is all.

DRL,
the Democrats were in charge of Congress for only two of the eight years Bush was in office.
