VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Two Easter baskets shipped from Vancouver, Wash., have triggered a drug case in Guam.
The Columbian says according to a newspaper in Guam, an island resident pleaded not guilty to the federal charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine hydrochloride.
The Pacific Daily News reported Dennis Charles Perez was sent a package from Vancouver containing two Easter baskets. According to the charge, about 40 grams of the drug, also known as ice, were hidden inside 25 pieces of candy.
Perez remains in custody of U.S. marshals. His trial is scheduled to begin on July 15.
