I think we met this guy at the jump in the coconut grove once. He traded us some crappy weed for a bag of rice.

Wow that is sad man, both stories.

Good one Paul.
RAC, yup, although he didn't have the great umbrella then. He must have traded up.
We have a guy who lives in a tee pee next to the old dump. He would sit on top of the piles and shoot seagulls with his bow. I asked one of the attendants if it was illegal. He said the cops are too scared of him to say anything. He is still squatted on county land, although the dump has since moved.

are seagulls edible?

DRL said...

He would eat them. But palatable? I don't want to find out. Yuck. The Seagull is the Utah state bird, therefore, protected. But like I said no one would go after him. He is still in the tee pee and now carries a pistol everywhere he goes. He has never caused any trouble that I know. We call him Rambo.

Where is this dededo. Catholic social services has an outreach program that is primarily activated through public concern.

It is always sad to know this is a possible resort to bad times. I just noticed the 2 wheel chairs.

Yes this is a tough situation. But Guam has some support services. Like transportation for medical appointments, housing etc. The paper work just needs to get in. CSS will send a caseworker out to him to help with the paper work.

Now about Sea gulls. I checked it out and apparently befor they were over hunted the were part of British and Scotish coastal peoples diets. Most of the sea birds seem to be on conservation lists so there is alot of public awareness not to eat them. I just always thought they were fatty and tough

You know one of the hardest part of getting help to someone, is they need to know they need it, or will accept it. Many homeless have ether just given up, or have a psychological problem.

He's been there for close to a year. This is right between Gibsons (now Guam Premier Outlets) next to Royal Lanes (which has recently been replaced by another branch of the First Hawaiian Bank). I see him around on the wheel chair but I'm not sure he needs one.

I spend a few years on the edge but not because of any external conditions. I just lacked any ambition, collected stuff in the jungle to eat and did odd jobs when that wasn't enough.

Friggin' Scotts will eat anything won't they.
RAC, I think remember that guy. I always thought he had it made. Traveling the world, no real worries.

Paul,Is this the guy who used to be by KFC in Tamuning? Then Mangilao? If so I heard he was a painter then started sniffing the stuff.I agree that he may not need the wheelchair because I always wondered where he does his men's room thing. I also heard that he refuses help.Nito Blas was pushing him toward the facility in Mangilao,I saw him myself.

OK here I go again. I was the bulding administrator for the Agana Shopping Center from '91 to'95 and there was this homeless black guy that basically lived in our parking lot and in the vicinity. He had a Payless shopping cart and all his worldly posessions in it. He really was mental. He would just pullout his thing and piss right in broad daylight in the middle of the Wendy's drive through. He wore a black trench coat and was always doing martial arts poses. And yelling at customers. It got really bad. Every time someone called the police they would always say Aye Lana notting we can do hes brodie. You gots to call mental helf. One day one of our tennants came into the office and said this dudes in the parking lot jacking off at cars. I immediately called guams finest and when the cop arrived he almost arrested me for harassing the guy. He told me hey, he's sick ok? Leave him alone. When the cop left I got hold of my two key guys Vince and Bert and said lets go. We chased the guy down and took his cart away and sent him packing. Everything he owned in the world was in that Payless cart. We taunted him and harrased him and he finally threw a rock at us or some such shit and then the cops came back and arrested him. We went through his cart and know what? Come to find out that he came from Hawaii. When nobody could do anything anymore Hawaii bought him a one way ticket to Guam. He also had a bank account and debit card from first Hawaiian bank. He got social security checks. He had all kinds of money. We took everything he owned and trashed it. Finally the authorities called the Chicago PD (I want to say Chicago but don't remember exactly, whatever was on his birth certificate) and he had been missing for years. Gov Guam sent him home and last I heard he was being taken care of by his family. I know the libs were thinking what an asshole Mat. But look how it turned out. Everyone else that professed to give a shit just enabled him. The hippy couples that lived at Cabras on their sailboats that would give him change in the parking lot. He was loaded, he didn't need their change. The stupid cops that didn't want to get involved. But I took a stance that would have turned a liberals stomach and look.Could I have did things differently? Maybe. But I was being payed by my company to look out for the investors best interests and I handled my buisness. Oh yea I got a big Christmas bonus and raise that year. Every body won.Hehehe.
