A funeral for a friend

My brother Ric and his wife Teresa lost a close friend Darrell. He was a Police officer in New York. He was killed in a traffic accident. We should remember the others involved and injured in the accident. Ric and Teresa are helping with the funeral.

For the sake of keeping this on an up note, as did Pat, Cindy, and Robert, I will tell a funny story of Ric when we were younger.

Ric once told me, "If you want to inpress the ladies, just put a sock down your pants".
I just wish he had told me to put it in the front, not the back of my pants.

Okay, I made it up!

Dave, the story about the sock is true! I'm sorry you fell for it! :) Never, ever...put a sock in the back of your pants! I hope a guy named 'Bruce' didn't find you attractive!

Darrells death was a shock for the both of us! Teresa took off from work and has been with Darrells wife all day, and will be through out the weekend untill the funeral. (They both teach at the same High School).

I was asked by the Cold Springs Police Dept. to watch his Police Dog, Duncan, during the funeral. I played ball with the dog more than anyone else besides Darrell. Everyone else was afraid of the pooch.

Thanks for your kind mention of our friend!

Ric

Ric, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. I've found myself that the best thing to get through the hard times is to have your friends close to you. His wife is blessed to have you and Teresa to be there for her. And BTY your achiote seeds should be there any time..you can have red rice for Thanksgiving!

Hey thanks everyone! Teresa is taking this much harder than I am.

As for the dog, Linda (surviving wife) fears that the City will reassign the dog to some one else on the police force. Although there is not another trained K-9 Officer in the department. She is going to petition the city to retire the pooch and transfer ownership to her.
