Out at the Ranch:

Just wanted to share this family photo with you all, taken in 1975. It was just before I left Guam, headed to Sacramento for my junior year of high school. I wasn't about to go back to GW, as things were getting way too violent. Check out Chris's eyes. If looks could kill...

Click on the picture to get a close up of those angry eyes. Chris, what were you so mad about?

What was going on at GW?

Good looking family. I particularly enjoy the footwear... now that brings back some memories.

Kill haolie day turned into kill haolie week which turned into kill haolie month...you get the picture. It wasn't quite so bad for the girls, but being that I went up to the very last hour of the very last day of tenth grade without a scratch, it made some Sinajana boys very angry with me. Especially since I had to give them a little taste of my Dad's sheriff 50 aerosol mace, applied directly to the face, just to make it out alive.

What wasn't going on at GW should be the question. Talk about a place where the inmates were running the asylum.

I keep reading about the Ranch. What exactly was/is this place and what's its history?

My parents bought an acre of agricultural land out in Adacao Barrigada, just off of the back road to Anderson where it cuts through to Dededo. We cleared the land, planted fruit trees, landscaped the whole acre with different kinds of lawn grass and built a 3 bedroom house entirely out of philippine mahogany. That's where we moved to from Dean's Circle. We called it the ranch.

Hi Dave, try googlearth and look for a piece of property bound by clifflines and ocean. It's called Hanom, but had been originally named Janom in the Spanish maps. That's our families ranch...check it out:)

Hey guys Ive been out for a while. this is the pic that I was looking for to do the "before and after Deans circle". I was in 7th grade BJH, I hated it too. almost got mugged in the library one day. I thought that would be a good refuge during lunch. Glad we moved because I overheard daves stories of Kill haolie days. Was NOT looking forward to GW. After we got to Vernal Utah, I wanted to start my own 8th grade Kill Houlie day!!
