Crossroads?
I hear people refer to Guam as the cross roads of the Pacific, but I usually refer to it as the arm pit. Now don't get me wrong, its got nothing to do with Guam itself only its geographic location. If you can imagine putting Guam in your arm pit then just about any destination on the pacific rim is at your finger tips.
I'm off island for the weekend.

Paul, so where are you off island now? Some place with more land mass I hope!
That one nice shot! Don't reconize the night time skyline, but am assuming it is Tumon Bay?
Lucky-You!!!
Hong Kong, Continental has a special $425 special.
Its 6:30am in the morning and I can't grok what I'm typing.. :-P
Paul,
no need to apologize. I live near the armpit (The Big Bend) of the state of Florida and it's not called that because of it's proximity or gateway status to anywhere else. It really is the armpit of the state. Watch Recount on HBO and you will get some idea as to why.
I remember my parents taking us to Hong Kong Summer of '71. Went all the way to the Chinese frontier. Saw everything from unimaginable squalor to the most vibrant, historical and beautiful city you could imagine. I envy you and I would go back in a second given the chance. The pictures and updates you post give all of us that have long since returned to Mother Stateside a contemporary link to our unique and precious shared past.
ps Stay away from Tiger Balm Happy Fun Oasis.
Just sayin.
