And on a related note today American Airlines announced that effective immediately there will be a $15 charge for your first checked bag, $25 for the second to help them cope with ever higher jet fuel prices. The other major carriers are expected to follow suit. In addition to the checked bag charges American will be charging for other additional "value added" services.
Bag of peanuts $2.00
Coke $2.00
Ice for coke: $1.00
Souvenir cup for coke and ice: $5.00
Disposal fee: $2.50
Bathroom privileges: $10.00 or you can use your souvenier cup if this seems a bit pricey.
Disposal fee of souvenir cup containing biological hazard $10.00
Being treated like a human being: you don't have that kind of money.
A pleasant flight: see above.
I personally have budgeted an entire day for my trip to Vegas and I will count myself lucky if I make it with whatever semblance of dignity I've managed to salvage and in one piece.

I was going to say that, "I'll save the ten buck on bathroom privileges and pee into my souvenier cup", but then I read that I would have to pay ten bucks for the for the disposal fee of the souvenier cup. Just can't win. :(

Ride a Camel. That's what the saudis do.

Ric Larson said...

Are you sure Dave? Last few Saudis I saw on TV were riding around in 'Rolls-Royce's', and laughing under there breath at us Americans. I think they use there camels as pets now.

Yea and I'm still driving to Vegas Baby! Bringing too much stuff to fly.

Dave & Ric,
I believe Saudis still do "ride" their camels. People wonder at why camels are always in such a foul mood.

'Rock-on' Mat. If I owned a Caprice, I too would drive it from NY to Vegas Baby. Wish I owned a muscle car!

As for the camels and Saudis, camels stink (if you ever smelled one you would know what I mean), and as for the Saudis,...well, I just will not go there right now.

Doug, are you a PR guy? :)

Doug, while I have my shoe off, would peeing in it be an option?

Ric, Are you crazy? I'm absolutely NOT driving the Caprice to Vegas.
It's a gas hog(plus my wife really
hates it, calls it a boat) more of a land yacht really. I'll be rolling in my Neon, A/C 25+ MPG oh
yea!

I hear ya Mat! I use to drive a Neon. Good cars!
