Escape to Texas

So a bunch of polygamist decide to escape the long arm of the law in Utah by moving to Texas? What a bunch of dumb assess. Had they asked I would have told them there are only two religions allowed in Texas; Catholic for those born south of the border and Southern Baptist for the rest. Remember the Alamo Waco.

I guess my point is that Texas is the last place you want to go to start a cult. I lived there for 15 years and can tell you it is a very strange place. Texans have a pride like none other. If you don't hold their point of view its best you either shut the hell up or move to Austin. Still, you gotta love it!

Yea, Waco desaster and the destruction of theFedral building in Oklahoma city were both on mine and Jills Aniversery (April 19th). Isnt it strange how close to that date they started this in Texas???? Mabey they planned for something on the same day?????
No, I am not a cospericy theriorist or a speller.
Wait, I gotta go out side and watch for black helicopters.

They gave up without a fight because they had to face the Texas Rangers... not the ATF.

One Riot - One Ranger
Have you ever heard of the story of the Texas Ranger who in the days of the Wild West was sent alone to a remote Texas city to quell a riot? When he stepped down off of the train the local sheriff laments, "They only sent one ranger?" The Ranger, looked up from under his 10-gallon hat, drew a puff on his cigarette and exhaling smoke into the sheriff's face says, "You only got one riot don't ya?"

Just as a side note on this. This and other Paligimist Mormon groups accually are observing more of the teachings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young than are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. In order for Utah to become a State, it had to obollish prictices that were against Fedral Law. Others were as well. It is also funny (ironic) because the people were verry Right Wing, and had to agree for (i cant remember how long) some time vote half demicrat and half repuplican. I am in no way putting down Morman's, half my family is Morman, and I mairied one.

If there were ever any cause that I could think of to fight it would be to help those young children. Can you imagine how frightened they must be right now? Even though it is the right thing to do, to rescue them from abuse, how is TX equipped to support them all emotionally and spiritually through loosing their families and fearing that they have just been sentenced to hell by our actions? I pray for those that are there supporting the children, and I pray for the children, and I pray that TX thought this through before acting. Each child is worth saving, however, how are we going to help over 400 children during the un-brainwashing they will need to go through?

One more thing, I do think that TX acted correctly, I just hope they have all their ducks in a row before they removed these kids. Simply placing them into foster homes isn't the answer. What kind of monumental project this is---- the reprocussions are going to carry over that is for sure.

Ye, My wife is a graduate from the U of T at Austin (Long Horns). Been there many times. It probably is the 'only' safe 'haven' for anyone whom wants to start a cult.

And if I was up against the ATF, sure I would fight back, the Texas Ranger...I know I'm done and my wepons on the ground and my hands are reaching for the clouds.

Juls, you are soooooooooooo right. It will be hard enough to esimilate them back into normal society, let alone change what they have been taught all these many year of thier lives. Most of them, all of there life. I know that some will accept it without a problem, because it is human tendancy. But some will simpely move back into what they know, and many people will be happy to allow them. There are many paligimest comunities who would welcome them with open arms. It will suprise you.

Oh, Juls, Hi again. Talk to me later.

Really now, if you are a chick (babe), would you want to be married to that 'cat' and share him with other babes? He either had a lot of bucks or was one good hypnotist!

You know it is kind of a strange thing to think about. But the power some cult leaders have. David Koresh (sp?), Jim Jones, and the like who had many of there followers die for them. When the suicides happened at Jones Town we were on Guam. There was a Jones Town by the Hospital(I think?). It made me think of the insanity (Not mine, thiers).
Like Juls said, It is the poor children and unintended wifes who will be in most need of "True Help".

I remember Jones town in Guam, the houses were developed by the Bob (and his brothers) Jones family. My good good friend Lori lived there. She and I went back to visit Guam in 2001 or 2002.

Juls, I am glad that you and Lori didn't drink the purple coolaid. Oh, mabey we can ban purple coolaid too.

All I have to say is that one of my best friends' girlfriend followed David Koresh(sp?) She broke loose and has 2 of his kids. At least she came to her senses before Waco,Tx. It was sad to watch on t.v. knowing they're innocent people just lookin' for acceptance. I guess. So Sad for both sides:(
