I went for a swim last night, too rough to make it outside the reef but was joined by this puppy. He's smaller then he looks, only about 2ft long. I've seen as many as 4 at the same time usually near rock piles all about the same size.

Love it Paul. Again your POTW is awsome! I keep thinking how foolish I am for living in Arizona, as much as I love it here, I want to see the white sand beaches and undersea wildlife any time I want to.
Paul, the greatest thing I miss about the Island, is diving. I had gotten so use to swimming with sharks, that when we went to Hawaii on a dive tour, we saw a black tip, and I thought with the large group, we could chase it. So I did. The shark finaly went into a cave, and I looked back and the group was up by the boat. My sister Desi was one of the group. Oh well, it was funn.
Paul,I still have yet to see puppies but, being small,I could defend myself!!! I saw Jaws at a very impressionable age...Dun, dun, dun...I've never seen a shark in open ocean. Probably better that way:)
Oh, and Joanna, Baby Sharks are called pups. I want to also say, that baby sharks are dangrous. I once swam through a group of them, when Russell Clayshut pointed them out, I said that I had just came over the reef at that point. He said I was lucky to be alive. Puppies need to eat too. Russ, get on here, and do you remember that picnic at Cetti bay (I think that was it?)?
Thanx Paul again for showing us photo's that really make us state- siders miss Guam; a whole bunch! I never did dive, but did the snorkle thing! Never did see sharks inside the reefs, but am certain that they were lurking about. Every time I went snorkling, I could hear the music from 'Jaws'...in my head. And this was even before the movie ever came out? I have a little turtle in a big tank at home. We adopted it from one of Teresa's graduating High School students last year. The student told us to feed it with 'feeding fish'. Bought a dozen of them little buggers last year. A year later, we still have a small turtle and now 2 very large surviving 'ex-feeder fish'! (I have also been feeding the turtle pellets in the interim). Do I flush the fish or anticipate a disappearing turtle before to long? The two now very large 'feeding fish (now growing fangs)' seem to be stalking the turtle. Paul, please give me your expert aquatic advice!
Well Paul, you could not have been more correct. After reading your blog, I threw in a handsome amount of pellets into the turtle tank. The turtle swam in cirlces as the fish inhaled the pellets.
I think the turtle enjoys the company of the fish. But, I don't want to neglect the fish from its due nutrients. A nother science project for me to work on....hmmmm?

It will be easier for the fish to swallow if you blend the turtle... :-)
Seriously I don't think the turtle is in danger, though he may not be getting many of the pellets.
