I wish I was a "The glass is half full" kinda gal, but I am not. I wasn't blessed with that virtue. I have to pray for optimism.

Does anybody have any good news? If so, lets hear it!

Good one Juls....I started my new job this week and so far I really like it...after spending many years just in microbiology it's interesting to be out in the rest of the hospital,a bit scary too. Anyone who thinks there is nothing wrong with our current health care system, come spend the day with me and I'll change your mind. I'll at least convince you that you should be washing your hands a lot!!!
Many, many years ago, because my hospital was a public entity I was able to opt-out of Social Security and just contribute to my own retirement plan (see, just because I'm a democrat doesn't mean I expect Uncle Sam to take care of me).Last I looked, my funds were less than half what they were a year ago so I better have a job I really enjoy because I'll be working until I drop dead.

My daughter Valerie started her new job yesterday and that is going well too.

Another way to share good news : List 3 things that you are grateful for (I learned that from Oprah)

Here's mine:
*My kids and I are all healthy and happy.
*I learned how to make Cuban coffee and have been enjoying it every day.
*I've finally got the pool sparkling clean after a winter of no use and it will soon be warm enough to jump in.

Love it Cindy! Congrats all the way around!

My my daughters too got a new much needed job and they love them. Decent pay, good hours opportunity for advancement.

My three: My family is all healthy and employed, I have new carpet and wood flooring and still have enough money left over to go on vacation this year.

1. I am blessed that God brought me and Teresa's together.
2. I am blessed that my daughter is doing well in her first year of college, having had a history of learning disabilities in school. She's actually on the Dean's list!
3. I love my job!

GOOD ONE JULS!

1}My wife makes the best ribs.
2}Shes my wife and not yours.
3}I woke up today. Another day above ground!

1)My wife makes the best chicken.
2)She's still my wife and not yours.
I can only think of these two but their good huh? What do I win?

Mat, and all the while I thought you made the ' delicious ribs', hmmmmm? But still, I WANT THE RIBS AND CHICKEN...like as of yesterday! Whys is it that every time you post something, you speak of food....and I get so very hungry? Hahahahah! ;)

You misunderstand Ric. I only cook(BBQ) it is my wife that prepares the flesh for grilling,I am simply the vehicle that puts it forth for all to enjoy. Yes I can prepare it but it never quite comes out the same. However I cook a mean "Haole BBQ". With rub and smoked with sauce at the last part of cooking. I also make my own beef jerky and beer butt chicken and anything else you can put over fire. But the Chamorro food? All Benitas dude. The spam ones are all mine though. Next reunion I'll do breakfast and lunch.

1). My daughters have their mothers looks.

2). I can eat red rice whenever I want.

3). I have the sun at my back driving to and from work.

Mat, I'm about ready to burn rubber to crash at your place for a nice meal and drink! I know that you do the cooking, but please have Benita send me her secrete recipe! Thanks you for your SPAM recipes! I followed them, enjoyed them all, but my wife thinks I am nuts! She still can't understand how anyone likes SPAM? But she loves me enough to make me SPAM sandwiches for me to take to work, because she knows I love the stuff!

Doug'ster. You can send some of your Sun Shine up hear to New York, where it has been externally cold this year!

How I missed this one is beyond me. It is good.

Remember, the light at the end of the tunnel may be a freight train coming at you.

1. I have a wife that knows me better than I do myself.

2. My two daughters that still tell me they love me when we leave or end a conversation on the phone. Like in, "butterfly kisses" I must have done something right.

3. If it were not for friends to call out my down faults, I would "think" I am the person my dog thinks I am.

I have a story about the light at the end of the tunnel. This man that I knew was in a terrible accident. He was drifting and seemed to float through this long, long tunnel. He didn't know what was happening as he moved down this extremely long tunnel,of sorts. At the end of a long journey,he came through to the light and he saw God...and she was black!!! Thank-You Dr.Newby for the "A" in Philosophy and the lessons learned.( This was his last lecture of the semester and he went out with a bang!)He's retired now,but when I see him I Thank him for a class very well taught. My personal person to write opinions to one another weekly was going to become a Catholic priest. We respected one another and all was cool.I wish him well!
