POTW - Uncle John and Betsy

I was taking a couple of folks around the island and we met Betsy at the spanish fort just outside of Umatic. Uncle John showed us how to feed her green bananas out of your mouth as part of the Discovery Day activities.

People I know around me here in New York, just do not understand SPAM? To them it is like a very naughty word. I don't get it? But then again, they did not grow up in the tropics either.

We used to eat carabao at the liberation day carnival.Smoked and barbecued. With red rice and finadene of course.Mmmmmm. You have to tenderize the meat really good(beat the shit out of it)before marinating and cooking. It is after all a beast of burden and very tough. It's like buffalo. You fix it right and Mmmmm. Buffalo is more gamey though but very good for burgers. And actually much more lean than hamburger. Shit I'm really hungry now. When's the next fiesta(Reunion).

Ric,Spam IS a very dirty word nutritiously. If you could form it into a bullet and fire it out a rifle,it would stop a Rhino! Bad stuff. Remember also where you live.I joke about Spam but can only eat some maybe once a month(according to my doctor)high blood pressure and all.But boy is it good. I guess that makes it worth waiting for.Now Carabao, thats a different story Mmmmm.

Mat, I don't know if I ever ate Carabao ? I did ate a lot of Buffalo meat when I lived in Idaho though. I fully understand about high blood pressure and all. I have hypertension too, and am on 2 separate medications for it. I eat the low sodium turkey Spam. Doesn't taste as good as the original Spam, but it does the trick for a guy with high blood pressure.

He looks like Mr. T without the jewelry. I wondered where he went. He is now feeding green bananas to caribou (I know I misspelled it).
