GOP's Christian Right Pact Costs Votes

Forbes: Going back to 1980, Christian conservatives have been the most loyal of voters for the Republican Party. They were keys to Ronald Reagan's success and stayed with George H.W. Bush to help him succeed Reagan. continue...

a recent New York Times/CBS poll that found just 31% of respondents said they had a favorable view of the Republican Party, the lowest figure in 25 years.

Our Zogby polling and that of others finds growing concern among young Evangelicals about global warming and poverty, issues that are the Democrats' home turf. Among all 18- to 29-year-olds, our post-election poll found 65% voting for Obama. Republicans are currently losing an entire generation.

Congratulations - the liberal takeover of the primary and seconday school systems worked! None of our children know any better now. I just love it when a propaganda campaign really pays off

Maybe so, but isn't that what wins elections. The point of the article is the GOP base is beginning to erode. If you want to start winning elections again you may want to come up with a different strategy. You can't sell a product if your sales pitch is based on telling people how stupid they are for not buying what you're selling. Like it or not it's all about the packaging.

It sounds as if you're crying foul because your opponent was better prepared and played a better game.

New york Times/CBS poll? yea, there's a reliable unbiased source.

Form without substance is what we got in 2008. I can say with confidence tht the GOP will change - is changing. Stay tuned.

Are you proud of what the democrats "sold" America with this president, congress and platform?

Which might explain the President's ~90% approval rating among Democrats. This notion that Democrats are suffering from buyer's remorse is just more Righty radio spin. You really should start fact checking your sources before using them on the blog.

On this same point, here's an interesting article from the Washington Post that was mentioned in the original Forbes piece: Political Pullback for the Christian Right?

RAC - I don't think I said anything about buyers remorse - or was this someone else?
