Things to know abut Vegas Baby

Yes, it will be hot in August, but unless you want to "Walk the Strip" or go lay at the pool, 90% of the time we will be indoors (accept for DRL who will be riding his hog, sorry DLR). Many of the Casino's (Bally, Paris, Flamino, etc) are connected with a tram that commutes between them making a car unnecessary and an extra expense. Those that fly in can take a hotel shuttle or taxi to the hotel and save money that way.

I have rented a stretch limo before for 8 people for a three hour strip tour for less than $140 which was split between us making a night out on the town fun, first class but not expensive (you get VIP door service to clubs and shows with a limo, no cover charges or lines to wait in).

Although shows can be pricy, they do offer off season ticket prices (August is off season).

Sharing the expense of larger suite rooms comes out cheaper too, if you don't mind sharing a room with someone.

Hey ya know, 'Area 51' is not to far North of Vegas. Any one dare to do a recon with me?

I am all for sharing rooms. We can get a large suite for near nothing per each person. I am going to volunteer my services as the chaperone for the ladies.

juls, you (as I am sure, always) right. If we get a hotel on the strip, it is easy walk or tram ride to where you want to go. I was going to keep my opinion of which hotel till the you all have decided. I just think that as we may be spending time in the pool, it should be as much like an island as possible.

Any questions, several of us have spent much time there, so ask questions.

hey juls, there's more than 8 of us

I know Pat, but there are more limo's in Vegas than you can shake a stick at.

I too will hold my opinion as to which hotel when we narrow it down between a couple.

I agree, the island style pool and facilities of the Mandalay Bay would be pretty cool!

Did anyone notice that the Mandalay Bay boasts a topless pool? Not that you would ever catch me there but just thought I would point that out for the less inhibited of the gang..lol

Sorry got to have my own room. How am I supposed to have goats & midgets and whatnot feel comfortable with a bunch of strangers gawking at them.

So...no one wants to sneak away and check our AREA 51 (sigh).

I hear you Doug! I need a room of my own too. My wife is a triplet (all girls), and they hate being apart (kind of like being married to the Swedish bikini team...if you know what I mean :)!

Ric, no, with Doug, goats (in montana that would be sheep), midgets, why go to area 51.

Doug, no, if you get your own room, what will the rest of us watch. Oh, I forgot, I am chaparoneing the ladies room.

Haa ha, Juls you are too funny. Maybe one of you could renew your vows and get in on a wedding party deal.
