Vegas Baby prices?

Okay, boys and girls. I have some early prices. I am a cheap skate, and am happy sleeping under the stars. But am willing to go along with the crowd on this. The most popular Hotel was the Mandalay Bay. I agree it is the most Island like, However the second is the Tropicana. There is a reservation service when 10 rooms or more are being used. I don't know if (with spouses (RAC's goats and midgets)) we will need that many. I also checked on the price of the Water O Show.

Price is per person w/4 people a room (max allowed), for both nights, two to a bed. This does not included tax or other possible charges. Double the price if you want the bed to your self. RAC, you quad the price if you are paying for the goats.

Mandalay Bay
Week days $95.00 + tax
Fri and Sat $147.00 + tax

Tropicana
Week days $40.00
July 25-26 $95.00
August 1-2 $67.00

Water O Show
Depending on seats $190.00 to $350.00 (ouch)
RAC, No goats allowed.

I will go where ever everyone decides on. We can go camping for all I care, that would be fun too, but not in Nevada! It would have to be somewhere in the cooler mountains.

I will add, the Tropicana is one of the hotels that is connected by many other ones. If cost is a factor I think we would still be satified with staying there. But I will go where the majority wants to. That is just my two cents worth.

It would be nice to make a Yellowstone National Park camp trip. This would not be the big reunion, but for those in the west, it would be fun. I live here and could guide.

Gosh dang it man, those are some nice prices on Hotel rooms! (You ought to check out the prices here in NYC) :(

I & my lovely wife (whom wont let me travel anywhere alone) will stay where ever every one else stays!

Teresa and I did camp out in a tent in side Yellowstone National Park, summer of 2006. Froze our tushees off at night (we weren't prepared).

Ah, that reminds me of the time after Teresa and I met in Alaska back in 1993. We made love on an alaskan blue glacier. It's been melting every since. Some say that we are to blame for globle warming (if you happen to believe it). But that is another story for another time.

Hey DRL, what does the reservation service offer for the 10 rooms?

DRL said...

juls, not much more advantage other than they will hold the rooms in a block, and they will hold the reservation without payment longer to let us get in and pay as we can.

Oh good, those are good benifits for sure. By the way, when I looked on line, I didn't see any two bed rooms, did I miss something? Can you log onto yahoo chat, and send me the links you looked at?

I have stayed at both. The Tropicana has a great pool and is smaller than Mandalay Bay. I think in Vegas less is actually more. Mandalay Bay is a fabulous hotel, yes with a beach, but it is so large and expensive. I would rather spend my cash at the Coach Outlet store. That being said, I will go with the consensus.

Great pool, smaller, and cheaper sound good to me. My vote is also with the Tropicana.

What's a coach outlet store? Do they serve beer there?

DRL said...

Doug ther are 2 things you can buy anywhere in Nevada, one of them is beer.

There is much more to do in the Vegas Baby area. Rollercosters for example. In fact the one in Primm (35 miles south) was the fastest one in America when it was built. Hoover Dam. The Strasasphere (not for the weak of heart or girly boys). And many Casino street shows. i.e. Tresure Islands pirate show, the valcano outside the Mirage, Fremont st.(indoors), Circus Circus, New York-New York, did I mention the 2 atraction at Hooters, and many others.....

I am fine with Tropicana,I like the idea of less is more.

Good news...there is a Coach store in Primm! This will be so fun!

Tropicana sounds like the best deal to me!

Cindy said...

Doug, don't try following Becki to any Coach store..you wouldn't be able to keep up with her.

Doug said...

Forgive my ignorance but what is a coach store? Do they sell coaches there?

DRL said...

Doug, it's okay. I have no Idea, except its a place girls like to shop. If it isn't Cabelas or Sportsmans Warehouse, I probabley don't want to be there.

I vote for Mandalay Bay. I've stayed at Caesars before and that is also a great hotel.

I've stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton a couple times. It is not on the strip. It is on the monorail line, but not very convenient. One thing to remember, is that these Vegas is very big and getting between the hotels can take a lot of time. Taxis are available, but during peak times, you can spend 30-60 minutes waiting in the hotel line for one. It is a good idea to stay somewhere interesting and cut down on the travel requirements.

Sean, We thought of Mandalay Bay too, however I think the consences is Tropicana. It is good that you have been there as well. We can use all the help we can get.
