What a culture! What a country! WTF!

TEHRAN, Iran — Members of Iran's feared Basij militia forcibly marry female virgin prisoners the night before scheduled executions, raping their new "wives" and making it religiously acceptable to execute them, a self-professed member of the paramilitary group said.

The anonymous militiaman told the Jerusalem Post that at age 18 he was "given the 'honor' to temporarily marry young girls before they were sentenced to death."

In the Islamic Republic of Iran it is illegal to execute a woman if she is a virgin, the former guard told the newspaper. So the government arranges "wedding" ceremonies to be conducted the night before executions, and prisoners are forced to have sexual intercourse with a guard.

Raped by her new "husband," a female prisoner is now fit to be put to death.

So much pain in the world. It is amazing how some people keep on. Some of the accounts are just impossible to process.

Now that is some vile shit right there.
You know, the shame in all this is that stories like this tend to make people see Iranians as a sub human group. In fact they aren't. At FSU there was a group of Iranians (they called themselves Persians) and they were as a rule decent everyday folks. Rational, open minded and friendly. And I'll tell you something else some of their women are FOXES.
There are millions of these type decent people wanting to get out from under the thumb of these demented theocrats currently calling the shots.
I think it's important that we be careful in attributing the abuses of the ruling zealots and their minions to being typical of the country as a whole.

If you think about it is kind of typical thats how the assholes stay in power. The majority of the people don't know how to go about trying to change the system.Actually the ones that we meet over here are from privileged families that have the financial resources and government connections to live abroad. As an example look at Kim jong Ills son.Went to private schools in Switzerland.Everyone he met and partied with said wow what a great guy. They probably didn't know who his dad was.Now look,he's next in line to take over for his asshole dad.I know we're talking about Iran, but really is there a difference? And when we (the US) tries to help and give people hope we get beat up on by our own people saying things like "occupying","committing abuses upon","quagmire".Sheesh.

Sean, you titled this with a curse acronym. As much as I hate profanity, it fits fine. Okay for you too, Doug and Mat, although I won't.

It was one of the great things about taking Saddam Hussein and the Taliban out of power. These things went on in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I believe that the mistreatment of women in that part of the world is an outrage. If we did nothing else but free some women, we have succeeded in our mission.
